๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ | Scitechian Dominates Cebu City's 4th Annual Photography Competition
For the second time around, a Scitechian secured First and Third places in the 4th Annual Flora and Fauna Photography Competition organised by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR โ CENRO) held earlier, at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
Represented by Cynth Em Marthel Padecio, Campus Stellae Photojournalist, the pink school clinched First Place in the Flora Category followed by a Third Place grab in the Fauna Category.
To recall, Padecio won in the same competition last year.
As a two-time consecutive placer and winner, Padecio shares his sentiments as an emerging frontliner in the field of student photojournalism.
โIt feels very fulfilling, and I am very grateful for achieving this award and to [be able] to contribute to the [schoolโs] standing in the field of photography,โ he said.
The annual competition was created to promote local awareness and document urban biodiversity under the initiative of CENRO through their Urban Biodiversity Management Program.
Padecio also expressed the importance of preserving nature and wildlife through photography.
โThe pictures that I took aren't just simple pictures. They are representations of the different kinds of animals and plants that could disappear because of our carelessness,โ he shared.
Neophyte in the service as a campus publication photojournalist, Padecio continues to inspire and remind other young dreamers that challenges are meant to be faced, for legacy to be established.
