The Philippines is known to be a country with approximately 47% of its land cover used for agriculture. Despite this, the country still suffers from food insecurity with 62.1% of the population suffering from extreme food insecurity.
Agriculture does not directly solve food security but it does help the environment due to the promotion of planting.
