LAMBIGIT 2026: 3rd Northern Mindanao Research and Innovation Summit convened researchers, faculty members, students, innovators, and institutional partners from Northern Mindanao on April 28 to 30, 2026 in Cagayan de Oro City. Bukidnon State University and the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines spearheaded the summit to advance research collaboration, innovation development, and interinstitutional engagement in the region. The activity centered on the theme, โFrom Research to Real-World Solutions: Powering Northern Mindanaoโs Innovation Ecosystem,โ which guided research dissemination and presentation of outputs across participating institutions.
USTP Claveria, through the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Extension, participated in the academic evaluation of research outputs presented during the summit. Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Extension Dr. Eric Randy R. Politud and Research Director Engr. Val Irvin Mabayo evaluated poster presentations from various institutions, contributing to the assessment of research quality and relevance. Their involvement reflected USTP Claveriaโs engagement in regional research dissemination and its contribution to scholarly evaluation processes within interinstitutional academic platforms.
Engr. Nathaniel Quimada, Director of the Innovation and Technology Support Office, together with Engr. Maricel Villamor, participated in the evaluation of research abstracts submitted by different higher education institutions. Their participation supported the academic screening and assessment of research studies presented during the summit, maintaining research standards and strengthening collaboration in regional scholarly activities.
Ms. Michelle P. Arnan, Executive Assistant to the VCRIE, together with Mr. Renan Octavio and Mr. Roswin Sevandal, Faculty of the College of Agriculture, attended the MINDSPRING: Faculty Bootcamp, a parallel activity of LAMBIGIT 2026 focused on Technology Business Incubator (TBI) roadmap development. The session took place on April 30, 2026 at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, where participating higher education institutions presented institutional outputs, plans, and implementation strategies.
The summit concluded with oral and poster presentation sessions and academic engagements that highlighted research studies and innovation initiatives in education, agriculture, environmental management, governance, and industry. The event strengthened institutional linkages among higher education institutions, government agencies, and innovation stakeholders in advancing research utilization and innovation development across Northern Mindanao.
