Raising the blazing torch of the DTLED hallmark of excellence, 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐀 𝐑. 𝐀𝐆𝐎𝐒𝐓𝐎, a Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) 4 student from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP Claveria), has emerged as the 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍 in the 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of the 𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐗 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 organized by the 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 (𝐏𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄).

The prestigious competition was held today at Capitol University, Cagayan de Oro City, where 27 participating schools from across the region showcased their finest pre-service educators. Among them, Agosto shone as the overall winner, demonstrating exceptional teaching competence, creativity, and pedagogical mastery.

She was guided by her coaches from the Department of Technology and Livelihood Education, Mr. Paul Niño A. Icalina, Ms. Marinella N. Galia, and Gia L. Cuizon.

This outstanding achievement highlights the quality of teacher education at USTP and the dedication of its future educators.

April 11, 2025 | Capitol University, Cagayan de Oro City — The 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗗𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗗) of USTP Claveria made waves in the 2025 Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) Student Teachers’ Congress, emerging as a powerhouse in this year’s regional tilt.

Shining brightest among 17 competitors across Northern Mindanao, 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘆, a BTLED IV student, clinched 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in the highly competitive 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁. Her winning performance was guided by her dynamic mentors, Ms. Marinella Nagal and Mr. Paul Niño Icalina.

Adding to the department’s triumph, 𝐁𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐲 proudly took the spotlight as USTP Claveria bagged the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. Behind her strategic preparation was the ever-committed coach, Ms. Gia Cuizon.

Meanwhile, the intellectual might of the DTLED was also felt in the Quiz Bowl, with student contenders Bellanova Agosto and Aicel Barcelon putting up a strong fight under the mentorship of Ms. Jackielyn Abao and Mr. Jan Brylle Galarion.

Spearheaded by Department Head Mr. Sanny M. Daraman, a contingent of 55 delegates—comprising pre-service teachers and faculty—proudly represented USTP Claveria, making their presence felt not just in competition, but in camaraderie and academic excellence.

Today’s victory is more than just medals and recognition—it’s a resounding affirmation that USTP Claveria DTLED continues to set the bar high in teacher education across Northern Mindanao.

This remarkable study was authored by our brilliant BTLED IV students, Mylene M. Quinto, Ivy Rose S. Galozo, and Marisue Abendanio, under the guidance of their Thesis Adviser, Prof. Cyril John C. Nagal, the Department Head.

𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴 𝘀𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝘀𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯

MUSUAN, BUKIDNON—The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Kalamag Rodeo Team was hailed as the overall champion during the 48th Rodeo sa Musuan held at the University Catching Coral, September 16-17, as part of the 113th Founding Anniversary and Alumni Homecoming Celebration of Central Mindanao University (CMU).

CMU’s Philippine Association of Agriculturist, Inc. (PAAI) bagged the 1st Runner-up title while the CMU Ranchers Club Philippines and the College of Veterinary Medicine’s (CVM) Dare on Doing Good Example or DODGE A both came 2nd runner-up. Meanwhile, the USTP Elasso Rodeo Team was adjudged 3rd Runner-up.

With the theme “Celebrating Cultural Excellence and Collaboration”, the annual rodeo event was organized by the CMU Resource Generation Management Office (RGMO) of the Livestock Enterprise Director Dr. Winson Gutierrez and the Vice President for RGMO Dr. Reynaldo Intong, the CMU Society for the Advancement of Animal Science (SAAS), and the CMU Organization of Animal Science Major Students (OR***MS), along with the support of sponsors and alumni who actively took part in the occasion.

A total of 13 rodeo teams from several organizations in different parts of Bukidnon and Northern Mindanao participated in this year’s Rodeo sa Musuan:

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 & 𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 𝐊𝐈𝐂𝐊-𝐎𝐅𝐅 | Championing holistic wellbeing of the trailblazers, the USTP Claveria commenced its Health and Wellness Week 2023 featuring an exuberant opening ceremony and a grand parade that weaved through the vibrant streets of Poblacion, Claveria, Misamis Oriental, yesterday, May 29. Led by the esteemed University Chancellor, Dr. Renato O. Arazo, the event brought together the campus workforce, key officials, faculty, staff, and enthusiastic students from various units.

The student units, namely Unit 1: Green Demetrians, Unit 2: Blazing Phoenix, and Unit 3: Fighting Maroons, added to the festive atmosphere with their spirited yells and cheers. As the team looped its way through the town, the crowd was treated to an array of colorful banners, lively music, and inspiring enthusiasm.

Day 1 of the Health and Wellness Week witnessed two remarkable highlights: the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Wellness 2023 pageant and a series of thrilling sport events. The pageant showcased the poise, talent, and charisma of the participants, who captivated the audience with their elegance and charm. Meanwhile, the sport events offered an avenue for students and faculty alike to showcase their athletic prowess, fostering a sense of healthy competition and camaraderie.

With the opening ceremony setting the tone for an eventful week, the USTP Claveria Health and Wellness Week 2023 promises to be a celebration of holistic well-being, promoting physical fitness, mental health, and overall wellness among the university community.
