Punta Naga DepEd I.P.Quality Education since 2012 vis Surigao del Norte Division, District of Claver, Philippines

Through the CSR and in partnership with Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) and THPAL both mining companies established a village at Punta Naga for the Mamanwas, the indigenous people (IP) in the municipality of Claver. Construction of 120 houses were then turned-over to various IP households. A tribal health center, tribal hall, basketball court and access roads were constructed to accommodate thei

r needs and in carrying out their traditions. THPAL in partnership with TMC, helped established Punta Naga Elementary School through the Adopt-a-School Program of the Department of Education (DepEd) that allowed the Mamanwas to access basic education. Aside from the construction/maintenance of school facilities and provision of educational materials, THPAL and TMC also employed 15 teaching and non-teaching staff for the school.
