The KIK-Lusan Para Sa Kalusugan: Katawan, Isip, Kalikasan embarks coastal cleanup drive at the shore of Fuerte, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur. This initiative, falls under the programโ€™s advocacy, K for Kalikasan, via reducing the effects of pollution, moreover potential harm to marine animals.

The participants gathered early in the morning equipped not only with trash bags, sacks or tools, but also applied their commitment on upholding a healthier and greener community for future generations. This drive was meant to reduce the impact of the growing concern on marine pollution: removing plastic waste, non-biodegradable materials, and other debris that may impose risks on both marine diversity and public health.

Clean shores mean safer waters, healthier marine life, and a green community. As the waves crash to the cleaner sands, it safeguards a pollution free environment. A simple act of service promotes responsible behavior, and fosters community involvement.

The KIK-Lusan para sa Kalusugan: Katapan, Isip, Kalikasan continues its advocacy on holistic well-being as it presided a Mental Health Task and Workshop on April 12, 2025, at the Caoayan Farmers Convention Center in Pandan, Caoayan. This action aimed to raise awareness, create a safe space for individuals to learn about mental health, and provide activities to encourage individuals to give importance to their mental health, and enhance mental health promotion.

The event opened with a warm welcome from the host, who emphasized the importance of mental health in everyoneโ€™s lives. From students overwhelmed with academic pressure, adolescents trying to figure things out, and even adults juggling with multiple responsibilities. The highlight of the event was a lecture from Ms. Alliah Nicole Sayo, a Certified Mental Health First Aider, Psychological First Aider, a Certified Human Resource Associate, and Youth Mental Health Coach from the National Youth Commissionโ€™s Mental Health Youth Hub. Ms. Sayo shed light about the stigma, challenges, misconceptions, recognizing mental health struggles, practicing self care, aiming to cultivate a culture of understanding and listening. Ms. Sayoโ€™s talk speaks to the audience, many who found her insights, with the feeling of being seen and heard.

After the insightful lecture, a small workshop was spearheaded by Ms. Sayo, where every participant was handed out a big paper clip, and 3 smaller paper clips. An open forum later breakthroughs, where participants were encouraged to share their thoughts and ask questions and advice. The safe and respectful environment nurtured honest conversations. Participants could either listen or open up, reinforcing the idea that healing often begins by simply being heard.

The succeeding event was followed by awarding of a token and certificate of appreciation for her valuable contribution. The program concluded with heartfelt closing remarks by the esteemed mayors of BS Psychology who reminded everyone that taking care of oneโ€™s mental well-being is an act of strength. not weakness.
