The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) – College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) proudly announces that its Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Program has been granted Level IV Re-Accredited Status by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), valid from May 16, 2026 to May 15, 2031.

This prestigious recognition reaffirms the BSA Program's continued commitment to quality education, academic excellence, effective instruction, and continuous improvement.

This accomplishment reflects the collective efforts of the UNP administration, CBAA administration, BSA faculty members, students, alumni, and stakeholders who have consistently supported the pursuit of excellence in accountancy education.

The College expresses its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this significant milestone.

Soaring Higher: UNP BSA Earns AACCUP Level IV Status

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) Program has achieved another significant milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence, earning Level IV Accredited Status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), valid from May 16, 2026. to May 15, 2031.

Being granted the highest accreditation level, this five-year status affirms that the program offers quality, that the researches it produces uphold academic integrity, and that continuous improvement is ensured in preparing students for the accountancy profession.

More than a mark on a certificate, however, this recognition is a reflection of the collective effort of the BSA faculty members, who impart valuable lessons, nurture competence and character, and continuously enhance the program, and the students, who proved that excellence is not merely taught in the class, but is lived through hard work, discipline, and perseverance.

This milestone comes at a time when the University’s commitment to excellence continues to make its mark outside the classroom, given that UNP recently ranked first among top-performing schools in the region and seventh nationwide in the CPA Licensure Examination.

With this recognition comes the prestige of achieving the highest accreditation level and a greater responsibility for maintaining the standards that earned it. As the BSA Program looks beyond its present state, it carries with it a continuing ambition to produce globally skilled and morally upright professionals instilled with rich cultural values.

As part of the celebration of Accountancy Week on July 12–18, 2026, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Ilocos Sur-Abra Chapter will conduct the PICPA Accounting Quiz Bee. This activity aims to strengthen the partnership between PICPA and Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) members by providing an avenue for academic engagement, camaraderie, and professional development among accounting students.

The competition will bring together BS Accountancy students from the three participating institutions: Divine Word College of Bangued, Saint Paul College of Ilocos Sur, and the University of Northern Philippines, fostering collaboration, healthy competition, and the promotion of excellence in the accountancy profession.

The competition will be held at CBAA Minilibrary University of Northern Philippines, on July 15, 2025, 9:00 AM.
