Reimagining the Filipino public market as an adaptive civic structure, M[ARK]ET responds to both everyday community life and environmental crises. Located in a flood-prone context, the design transforms the market into a resilient space that not only sustains livelihoods but also becomes a safe shelter during disasters.

February 13–15 at the Gestdan Centrum in Baguio City, the College of Architecture – Atelier Council participated in a series of academic, civic, and collaborative events where discourse, movement, service, and intellect converged.

𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐊𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐍 | 𝐙𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐇
Held at the Gestdan Centrum, Area A’s debate series reached its culminating round. The event gathered top teams to address critical issues in architecture, urban planning, and design. Participants demonstrated rigorous research, structured reasoning, and articulate argumentation, reflecting the discipline required in professional practice.

Conducted at Wright Park, Baguio, the Arki-mazing Race emphasized teamwork, strategy, and adaptability. Through a series of mental and physical challenges, participants demonstrated coordination and collaboration, underscoring the collective nature of architectural practice.

At Lindawan Elementary School, the outreach program highlighted the humanitarian dimension of the event. The initiative focused on empowerment, shared learning, and meaningful engagement with partner communities, reinforcing the social responsibility integral to the profession.

Structured in a Family Feud–inspired format, the Architectural Quiz Bee tested participants’ knowledge across various architectural disciplines. The segment required not only subject mastery but also strategic thinking, teamwork, and quick decision-making.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. On January 30, 2026, the UNP College of Architecture and Built Environment (CArBE) celebrated a historic milestone with the first-ever Heritage Stewards' Investiture Ceremony at Tadena Hall, University of Northern Philippines.

Under the theme “𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆,” our Architecture students were formally vested and pinned. This ceremony signifies more than just a title; it equips our future architects with the tools and responsibility to protect the nation’s built legacy.
