The UNP-Biology Society joins the nation in commemorating National Cancer Consciousness Week, a meaningful observance dedicated to raising awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of informed health choices.🎗️💙

The UNP Biology Society (BIOSOC) officially marked a new chapter of leadership as its officers participated in the induction and oath-taking ceremony held on the final day of the Student Government (SG) Festival—the culminating highlight of the four-day celebration from January 13-16, 2026.

This significant event symbolized the commitment of the new set of officers to uphold the values of service, integrity, and responsible leadership within the university. The ceremony was further enriched by a meaningful candle-lighting ritual, representing unity, dedication, and the shared vision of student leaders across organizations.

Through this milestone, BIOSOC stands empowered with renewed purpose, strengthened leadership, and a clear vision—ready to serve the Biology community and extend its commitment to meaningful service within and beyond the university. 💚🔰

The Society for the Protection of Interests, Rights, Initiatives, and Talents (SPIRITS) is a confederation of all accredited student organizations in the University of Northern Philippines that works to empower the student body. It focuses on enhancing students’ abilities, supporting their interests and initiatives, and safeguarding their rights through collaborative and student-centered activities.

The spirit of generosity, compassion, and community emerged as the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) spearheaded the “Pamaskong Handog ng mga Mag-aaral ng Agham at Sining – Spreading Joy Through a Gift-Giving Drive” event on December 17.

Together with the Students of Arts and Sciences Organization (SASO), Marine Biology Students Organization (MBSO), Biology Society (BioSoc), Physics Association of Students and Enthusiasts (PhASE), and Mathematics Wizards Society (MWS), the event fulfills its mission of valuing how small acts of kindness can make a meaningful impact.

The gift packs given to the beneficiaries are in kind donation from the different class sections across CAS.

The following were the schools where the event took place: Pantay Tamurong National High School, Bantay West Integrated School, and University of Northern Philippines.

The event fosters the culture of care and thoughtfulness, creating a world where camaraderie and humility fosters altruism.
