The Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers โ€“ UNP Chapter (JPICE-UNPC) presents Project SPARKโ€”Spreading Awareness, Responsibility, and Knowledgeโ€”a digital advocacy initiative that delivers timely, well-curated publication materials through its official page to promote informed citizenship and social awareness.

Project SPARK bridges civil engineering education with civic engagement by highlighting significant national and international observances aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The initiative features advocacies centered on education, gender equality, disaster preparedness, cultural preservation, environmental stewardship, scientific literacy, and civic responsibility. Each publication is designed to encourage reflection on relevant societal and global issues while reinforcing values essential to professional and community development.

By integrating these themes into accessible information campaigns, Project SPARK strengthens studentsโ€™ understanding of their role as future engineers in addressing real-world challenges beyond technical practice.

Through sustained digital advocacy, JPICE-UNPC cultivates a community of socially aware and responsible CEtizens committed to meaningful engagement and positive impact.

For the love of student service, always.

Under the Creativity Category, the Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers โ€“ UNP Chapter (JPICE-UNPC) presents CElebrasyon 2025, conducted from December 8โ€“12, 2025, in celebration of World Engineering Month. This initiative embodies a purposeful integration of creativity, intellect, and collaborationโ€”key attributes in shaping future civil engineers.

CElebrasyon 2025 served as a strategic platform for CEtizens to explore innovative thinking while strengthening both technical competence and interpersonal synergy. The program was anchored on two core segments: the CErebral Challenge and Larong AmaCEing.

The CErebral Challenge underscored creative problem-solving through academic competitions such as the Rubikโ€™s Cube, Math Relay, and Cryptogram. These activities refined analytical precision, spatial reasoning, and mental agilityโ€”demonstrating that engineering excellence is rooted not only in knowledge, but in creative application.

Complementing this, Larong AmaCEing translated creativity into dynamic teamwork through Filipino-inspired games, including CalamanCE Relay, Sack RaCE, Catch the Egg, Protect the Egg, Tug of War, Charades, Human Conveyor Belt, and Octopus RaCE. Each activity required strategic thinking, adaptability, and collective coordination, reflecting real-world engineering collaboration.

Notably, selected activities simulated practical engineering concepts: designing impact-resistant systems, optimizing process flow, applying physics in motion, and communicating complex ideas through simplified visual representation. These experiences reinforced the value of creativity as an essential engineering competency.

Through a balanced fusion of mental rigor and experiential learning, CElebrasyon 2025 cultivated innovative, resilient, and collaborative CEtizensโ€”proving that creativity is integral in engineering practice and leadership.

For the love of student service, always.

As part of its extension program at San Juan National High School, JPICE-UNPC conducted a numeracy training activity to help Grade 7 students strengthen their mathematical skills. Numeracy is the ability to understand, work with, and apply numbers, enabling students to solve problems, make decisions, and think critically in daily life.

The training focused on Scientific Notation, teaching students to simplify and organize very large or very small numbers. Using step-by-step explanations, examples, and practice exercises, students actively participated in converting numbers into scientific notation and back, building both understanding and confidence.

The studentsโ€™ energy, curiosity, and willingness to learn created a positive and collaborative environment, making the activity enjoyable and effective. Beyond supporting their learning, this experience helped JPICE-UNPC develop communication, leadership, and teaching skills as future professionals.

Through structured guidance and active engagement, numeracy training demonstrates that mathematics can be practical, meaningful, and fun.

For the love of student service, always.

Project CEnnuro, organized by Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers โ€“ UNP Chapter, is an academic support initiative designed to help civil engineering students strengthen both fundamental and advanced concepts. Recognizing the demanding nature of the curriculum, the program provides meaningful learning opportunities beyond regular class hours.

Held on January 10, 17, and 24, 2026, the sessions were facilitated by volunteer student lecturers who guided their peers through review and tutorial discussions. True to its name, โ€œWeekends With Purposeโ€ reflects the belief that learning continues outside the classroomโ€”where students actively improve their skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Sessions were tailored by year level:
โ€ข First-year: online sessions on Algebra, Integral Calculus, and Physics for Engineers
โ€ข Second-year: face-to-face discussions on Dynamics of Rigid Bodies, Mechanics of Deformable Bodies, and Engineering Data Analysis
โ€ข Third-year: face-to-face lectures on Hydraulics and Principles of Reinforced Concrete Design

Each session reinforced the programโ€™s core missionโ€”to cultivate discipline, mastery, and confidence among civil engineering students. Beyond academics, Project CEnnuro strengthens JPICE-UNPCโ€™s role as a partner in student success by fostering collaboration, leadership, and a culture of knowledge sharing.

Through initiatives like this, we prove that growth thrives when learning is shared, and excellence is pursued together.

For the love of student service, always.
