The BTVTEd and BTLEd faculty of Cagayan State University (CSU)-Piat Campus visited the University of Northern Philippines for a benchmarking activity aimed at sharing best practices, experiences, and innovations in teacher education.

The visiting faculty were warmly welcomed by Dr. Ma. Teresa Susan L. Manzanon, Dean of the College of Teacher Education, Dr. Jojit D. Aquino, Program Head of BTVTEd and BTLEd, and the BTVTEd and BTLEd faculty of UNP.

The activity fostered professional exchange, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, strengthening partnerships and promoting continuous improvement in teacher education programs.

𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐–𝟑 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨’𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞

July 17-18, 2026 | Iloilo City and Miagao, Iloilo. Participants of the 27th PATHESCU, Inc. 3-Day Annual National Conference and Training, hosted by the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), concluded the conference with activities that recognized professional excellence and promoted experiential learning among Home Economics educators from across the country.

On the evening of July 17, participants gathered for the PATHESCU Fellowship Night, which featured the Home Economics Professional Awards 2026, induction and pinning of new PATHESCU members, and the presentation and oath-taking of the newly elected officers. During the awards ceremony, Dr. Rozen C. Villa, Dr. Jeanina B. Batin, Dr. Arthur V. Pascua, and Dr. Ma. Rochelle F. Cabrales of the University of Northern Philippines were recognized as awardees in the Extension Category, honoring their valuable contributions to extension services and community engagement.

On July 18, all conference participants joined the Educational and Heritage Tour, beginning with a visit to FishWorld (SEAFDEC), where they learned about marine biodiversity, fisheries research, and sustainable aquaculture. The tour continued to the School of Technology (SOTECH) Laboratory of the University of the Philippines Visayas, followed by the Baraclayan Weaving Center, where participants witnessed the preservation of traditional weaving practices and local craftsmanship. The final stop was the National Museum of the Philippines-Iloilo, where participants explored exhibits showcasing the rich history, culture, and heritage of Western Visayas.

The conference concluded with meaningful experiences that fostered professional growth, collaboration, cultural appreciation, and the exchange of best practices, further strengthening the commitment of Home Economics educators to excellence in instruction, research, extension, and innovation.

The College of Teacher Education of the University of Northern Philippines proudly congratulates our distinguished faculty members from the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTEd) programs for being recognized as recipients of the 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗖𝗨, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. July 17, 2026 | Iloilo City-The BTLED and BTVTEd faculty of the University of Northern Philippines, College of Teacher Education, actively participated in Day 2 of the 27th PATHESCU, Inc. 3-Day Annual National Conference and Training, hosted by Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) at the Zuri Hotel, Iloilo City.

The second day highlighted research presentations and skills demonstration workshops, providing participants with opportunities to share innovative studies and best practices in Home Economics and Technology Education.

Representing UNP in the research presentation were Dr. Arthur V. Pascua, Dr. Rozen C. Villa, and Dr. Ma. Rochelle F. Cabrales, who presented their collaborative studies, “Innovative Development of Banana Blossom (Musa paradisiaca)-Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) Longganisa” and “Tilapia-Mushroom Loaf: Formulation, Nutritional Evaluation, and Acceptability.” Meanwhile, Dr. Jeanina B. Batin presented her research titled “Development of Pukpuklo (Codium sp.) Seaweed Ice Cream,” showcasing an innovative functional food product utilizing locally available marine resources.

In the afternoon, participants attended parallel skills demonstration workshops on Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Responsible Fashion, Digital Art, Interior Design and Sustainable Living Spaces, Education and Family Life, and Culinary Innovations, further enriching their knowledge and practical skills in various areas of Home Economics.

UNP’s participation in the research presentations reflects the University’s commitment to research, innovation, and sustainable product development, while promoting locally developed technologies that contribute to food security, nutrition, and community development.

July 16, 2026 | Iloilo City-Faculty members of the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education and Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education programs of the University of Northern Philippines, College of Teacher Education, participated in the 27th PATHESCU, Inc. 3-Day Annual National Conference and Training, held July 16–18, 2026, at Zuri Hotel, Iloilo City, in cooperation with the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U).

Representing UNP onsite were Dr. Arthur V. Pascua, Dr. Jeanina B. Batin, Dr. Rozen C. Villa, and Dr. Ma. Rochelle F. Cabrales, while Dr. Marnie P. Tabilin participated virtually through the conference’s hybrid platform.

The first day featured Thanksgiving Mass, opening program, keynote address, and plenary sessions centered on the conference theme, “You Are What You Eat: Feeding the Future Generations.” Participants gained valuable insights on nutrition education, responsible fashion, media influence, sustainable interior design, family life education, and hospitality and culinary innovations, highlighting innovative and sustainable practices in Home Economics education.

The conference will continue over the next two days with research presentations, demonstration teaching, the Home Economics Professional Awards, and an educational tour, providing participants with more opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices in the field.
