The College of Teacher Education of the University of Northern Philippines continues to strengthen its partnership with local government units through responsive community engagement initiatives.
On February 24, 2026, BTLED and BTVTED faculty members paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Annea De Leon, Municipal Mayor of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur, to discuss the planned conduct of a Needs Assessment Survey. The meeting focused on identifying priority areas such as skills training, livelihood opportunities, and educational support for the community.
Following the coordination, the CTE formally requested approval for faculty members to conduct the survey on March 9, 2026. The activity aims to gather essential data from selected stakeholders, which will serve as a basis for developing relevant extension programs and strengthening collaboration between the university and the local government.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the BTLED and BTVTED programs to deliver community-based, needs-driven extension services that contribute to local development.
