๐—ก๐—˜๐—ช๐—ฆ | ISPSC-Cervantes Celebrates FaMEALy Day 2025 in Unity, December 18.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Cervantes Campus celebrated "๐™๐™–๐™ˆ๐™€๐˜ผ๐™‡๐™ฎ ๐˜ฟ๐™–๐™ฎ" on December 18, 2025, with the theme "๐˜ˆ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜บ ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜Œ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ด ๐˜›๐˜ฐ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ, ๐˜š๐˜ต๐˜ข๐˜บ๐˜ด ๐˜›๐˜ฐ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ." This was centered on the idea that eating together helps families stay close. Instead of just attending classes, the teachers and students took time to connect through food and conversation. Because sharing a meal matters, it opened doors for honest chats and deeper understanding among people who work side by side. Laughter filled the space while they swapped stories, showing how everyday sit-downs can quietly boost trust. When groups gather like this, without pressure or rules, closeness grows naturally over time.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe party had fun contests, like the much-awaited Mr and Ms Reverse Role Runway. It split into three wild sections: Fabric Fashioning, Maximalist, and the 1970s Revival. Participants got loud, wore crazy outfits, and acted totally different than normal. Mr. Vhail Vrain Irrevere from BSED took top spot in the Male Reverse Category, whereas Ms. Harrieth Cariรฑo, whoโ€™s in BEED, took home the crown for Female Reverse Role. Her spark and boldness throughout each round lit up the whole school with joy and giggles.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽOutside the runway, different departments took part in a choir contest performing the ISPSC hymn. That moment revealed how much learners value their institution while blending voices smoothly. Once all acts finished, judges chose the BEED department as champions following strong showings across teams. Their unified sound truly matched the mood of the gathering.
โ€Ž
โ€Ž More than just games, ๐™๐™–๐™ˆ๐™€๐˜ผ๐™‡๐™ฎ ๐˜ฟ๐™–๐™ฎ showed how close the ISPSC community really is. It proved that sharing meals plus chatting builds tighter bonds. What made it work? A simple truth, ISPSC-Cervantes isnโ€™t only classrooms but itโ€™s a place where everyone supports each other. Every laugh, every bite, added up to something real.

โ€ŽIn the afternoon session, the mood shifted to reflection. A film viewing raised awareness on mental health. The featured films: "Enola Holmes, and Not Letting Go", helped participants see the importance of acknowledging one's importance and to support those silently fighting their battles.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽOne of the most impactful parts of the day was the Airplane Activity. Students and faculty were asked to write down their burdens, fears, or regrets on pieces of paper. They then folded them into paper airplanes, flew them into the air, and later burned them. The act symbolized release and renewalโ€”an emotional gesture of letting go of pain and moving forward with a lighter heart.

โ€ŽThe Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College Cervantes Campus held its Mental Health Awareness Program on October 27, 2025. The event gathered students, faculty, and staff for a day dedicated to promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and community support.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe program opened with a Holy Mass, reminding participants of the importance of faith and gratitude in facing lifeโ€™s challenges. The Mass created a solemn atmosphere of reflection, setting the tone for the dayโ€™s focus on healing and mindfulness.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe morning continued with โ€œHope in Action: Personal Narration,โ€ where Ms. Thea Joy Estipular shared a former student's journey of overcoming personal struggles. Throughout the story the message resonated with many, offering a message of courage and hope. The segment encouraged listeners to speak openly about mental health and seek help without fear of judgment.
โ€Ž
Before the morning session ended, motivational quotes were distributed to participants. Some of the quotes were: "Reminder: Storms don't last forever; Note to self: I am capable, I am strong, I am enough; Make yourself a priority." Each message carried words of encouragement and positivity, serving as small reminders to stay kind to oneself and to others.

โ€ŽThe Supreme Student Council (SSC) of ISPSC Cervantes Campus actively participated in a two-day Leadership Boot Camp held at the ISPSC Main Campus on September 29-30, 2025.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe first session on the first day of the camp, facilitated by Mr. Michael Gem P. Marquez and Dr. Tanya Sue Barrayoga, opened with a discussion on Ethical and Values-Based Leadership which focused on the critical role of values and ethics in leadership emphasizing that leaders should not only aim for achievement but also ensure that their decisions reflect honesty, accountability, and values-based. Through interactive exchanges, participants were challenged to examine their own leadership practices and commit to aligning their actions with the principles of service and integrity. This session underscored that ethical conduct as the foundation of effective governance.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽIn the succeeding session, Dr. Omar Valenzuela tackled Mental Health Awareness and Wellness. Addressing the often-overlooked struggles of student leaders, he highlighted the need for balance between responsibilities and self-care. โ€œMental health is as important as physical health,โ€ Dr. Valenzuela stressed, urging participants to prioritize their well-being as much as their duties. He also discussed practical ways to manage stress, build resilience, and support peers who may be struggling. The session reminded officers that leadership thrives when leaders themselves are healthy and supported.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe 3rd plenary session for the first day was facilitated by Mrs. Olivia R. Abalos, who discussed Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) Preparation. This session shifted the focus to technical competencies in student governance. Officers were introduced to the proper procedures in planning and allocating resources for projects. Mrs. Abalos explained how accurate documentation and budgeting safeguard transparency and accountability. By mastering PPMP preparation, student leaders are equipped to propose realistic programs that directly benefit the student body, ensuring that resources are maximized for student welfare.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe first day ended with a socialization night, where officers from the seven campuses gathered to celebrate unity and camaraderie. The event served as a platform for networking, cultural exchange, and collaboration. Beyond the formal sessions, it gave participants the chance to build friendships and strengthen cooperation across campuses, reinforcing the idea that leadership also thrives in collaboration and shared experiences.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽOn the second day, Dr. John Christopher D. Castillo, an instructor at Mapรบa University, Manila, led the fourth plenary session, titled Igniting Transformational Leadership: Building a Legacy of Service. Dr. Castillo shared his own personal journey, narrating the challenges he faced and the lessons he gained over the years. He emphasized that transformational leaders go beyond their position, they inspire others, empower teams, and create lasting impact. His message encouraged officers to look beyond immediate goals and work toward building a legacy that benefits future students. Dr. Castillo also facilitated a leadership workshop where student leaders engaged in personal reflection. Participants considered the values they learned from their families, how these influence their leadership, and the kind of leaders they aspire to become. Each campus then shared their reflections and agreed on a collective "Root Statement", capturing the values and purposes that inspire their leadership. The exercise encouraged officers to ground their leadership identity in shared roots, reinforcing that effective leadership begins with self-awareness and a clear sense of purpose.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽThe two-day boot camp concluded with an inspirational message from Dr. Mario P. Obrero, SUC President III, who congratulated the officers for their active participation and encouraged them to apply their learnings in their respective campuses. Certificates of participation were awarded to all delegates as recognition of their commitment. โ€ŽThe Leadership Boot Camp provided the SSC officers from the seven campuses with both knowledge and practical skills. From ethical grounding and wellness awareness to technical preparation and transformational leadership, the sessions offered comprehensive training. Combined with fellowship activities, the event equipped student leaders with the mindset and tools to serve with integrity, accountability, and vision.
โ€Ž
โ€ŽArriving a day before the official opening, the SSC officers from Cervantes Campus were the earliest delegates to set foot at the venue. They were warmly welcomed by Federated Supreme Student Council (FSSC) President Hon. Francis C. Gaoat and FSSC adviser Mr. Loyd Angelo Diana, setting the positive tone for two days of training and collaboration.

The Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) Cervantes Campus successfully conducted an earthquake and fire drill on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Students, faculty, and staff actively participated in the simulation drill, which aimed to strengthen the preparedness and to be safe during emergency situations. The earthquake drill demonstrated the proper โ€œduck, cover, and holdโ€ procedures, while the fire drill demonstrated the correct use of fire extinguisher.

FAC members showed step-by-step demonstrations and guided the drills to make sure they were done properly. Students and staff appreciated the activity, noting how important it is to be prepared during disasters.

The activity, spearheaded by FAC under the guidance of their adviser Ma'am Ruby Grace Sawey is part of ISPSCโ€™s continuous commitment to promote safety awareness and disaster resilience within the academic community.
