HILOTONGAN, Bantayan Island – The sea breeze carried more than just salt on the afternoon of March 30, 2026. It carried cheers, proud tears, and the sound of footsteps crossing a stage long awaited.

Hilotongan Integrated School held its joint commencement exercises for School Year 2025–2026, marking the graduation of Elementary and Senior High School students, alongside the moving up ceremonies for Kindergarten completers and Grade 10 completers. In the same breath, the school also recognized its performing undergraduate learners—whose hard work and perseverance did not go unnoticed, even if their final walk is yet to come.

But behind every successful ceremony is a web of people who traveled not just distance, but commitment.

The school extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Elisa E. Matulac, Principal II of Hilotongan Integrated School, whose quiet leadership held everything together. We are equally grateful to Dr. Jose Garry R. Napoles, Education Program Supervisor on EPP/TLE/TVL of the Schools Division of Cebu Province, who not only shared his wisdom but showed up with genuine support. With him was Mr. Jolieto T. Negre, Principal I of Bantayan Science High School—whose presence spoke volumes of solidarity.

We thank the Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Bantayan, and the Barangay LGU of Hilotongan led by Hon. Michelle U. Sumilhig, for grounding this event in community. To Hon. Ferdinand Saysis and Hon. Panchovilla Escala for extending their invaluable help. To Engr. Altamar D. Arcenas, our guest speaker: your words did not just inspire—they stayed.

Recognition is also due to the PTA Officials headed by Mrs. Charina A. Minas, our dedicated faculty and staff, the ever-reliable parents and guardians, and all other stakeholders who moved mountains—sometimes literally crossing rough seas—just to be part of this day.

This was not merely a ceremony. It was proof that in this island school, no one succeeds alone.

Under the exceptional leadership of our concurrent principal, 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙀. 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙘, Hilotongan Integrated School has taken a bold step forward in preparing its Senior High School students for the future through the Technical Professional-Track (TechPro).

Here’s a look back at how we turned vision into reality:

📍 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 13, 2026 – The journey began with a visit from Mr. Jose Gary Napoles, Division Program Supervisor for EPP/TLE/ TVL, who assessed the school’s readiness and guided the faculty in preparing for the TechPro offering. His insights laid the foundation for what was to come.

📍𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 – The School Head and Faculty President traveled to Balamban, Cebu to receive the much-needed TechPro equipment. These tools are now essential in providing students with hands-on, skills-based training for future employment and livelihood.

📍 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞 𝙃𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙡 – What used to be the Principal’s Office, Admin Office, Guidance Office, and Faculty Room was transformed into the TechPro Mini Hotel. Teachers, staff, and everyone in the school community worked together to clear and prepare the area.

📍 𝘿𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙍𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 – Major improvements took place: flooring was upgraded, glass partitions were installed, walls were painted, and spaces were reorganized to mirror an actual hotel environment. It was a true labor of love and collaboration.

📍 𝘼𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 – Today, the TechPro Mini Hotel stands as a fully equipped, realistic training facility. It now serves as a hands-on learning hub for students taking up hospitality services—complete with areas for housekeeping, front office operations, and guest relations.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this milestone possible. We are grateful for the support of our stakeholders, PTA officers, Barangay Hilotongan officials, and the Municipality of Bantayan, headed by Mayor Alex Layese. Most especially, we thank Dr. Senen Priscilo P. Paulin, Schools Division Superintendent of the Division of Cebu Province, and Dr. Jose Gary Napoles for their provision of the TechPro equipment and for their unending support.

Hilotongan Integrated School is now ready to shape the next generation of skilled professionals in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Last Friday, March 13, 2026, was a proud moment for the entire Hilotongan Integrated School family as we celebrated the resounding success of our recent TVL facility inspection.

It was a distinct honor to welcome our Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙖 𝙎. 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙤𝙨, from the Division of Cebu Province. She was accompanied by 𝘿𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙊𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙖, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙯, and our own Public Schools District Supervisor for Bantayan I, 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙅𝙪𝙙𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙣 𝙇𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖, together with the dynamic School Principal of Bantayan National High School, 𝙈𝙧. 𝙈𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝙋𝙚ñ𝙖..

The highlights of the visit were the monitoring and evaluation of the TechPro Building and the presentation of our innovative journey in transforming the Senior High Building into a fully functional TechPro facility and well-equipped laboratory. Through a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation, we detailed the step-by-step process of this transformation, underscoring our commitment to providing real-world, hands-on learning environments that prepare our students for future success.

We are proud to share that our school administration, led by our dedicated School Principal, 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙀𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙀. 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙘, received outstanding positive feedback regarding the quality of the facilities and the overall instructional delivery.

This achievement is a testament to the enduring 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 spirit. The entire faculty and staff of Hilotongan Integrated School extend their deepest gratitude to our valued stakeholders, the ever-supportive PTA Officials, and our diligent Barangay Personnel. Your collective effort and unwavering support made this milestone possible.

We, at Hilotongan Integrated School, are happy to share the exciting developments happening on our campus! In preparation for the upcoming launch of our TVL (Technical-Vocational-Livelihood) Strand, we are currently undertaking the repair and construction of key facilities.

Under the direct supervision and dedicated efforts of our School Principal, Elisa Matulac, we are proud to report the ongoing progress on:

Hilotongan Integrated School is proud to announce that we will offer Senior High School - Technical Vocational Livelihood (SHS-TVL) tracks starting School Year 2026-2027.

We will offer Home Economics (HE) Strand with a Focus in Tourism and Hospitality that will prepare students for careers in the dynamic tourism, hospitality, and service industries. Students will gain competencies in client care, operational procedures, and destination promotion, leading to national certifications.

Available Specializations — all leading to a TESDA National Certificate II (NC II):

1. 𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 (𝙉𝘾 𝙄𝙄)
a. Learn to maintain guest rooms and public areas to high standards, manage linens, and create welcoming spaces.
2. 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙩 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 (𝙉𝘾 𝙄𝙄)
a. Master reservation systems, guest check-in and check-out, concierge duties, and professional customer service.
3. 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 (𝙉𝘾 𝙄𝙄)
a. Gain skills to guide visitors, share stories about local culture and attractions, and organize tour plans.
4. 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 (𝙉𝘾 𝙄𝙄)
a. Learn how to promote destinations, assist travelers, and coordinate services to support tourism in our community.

In adherence with DepEd Ordee No. 12, s. 2025 titled Multi-Year Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and Activities and DepEd Order No. 17, s. 2025 titled Revised Basic Education, the conduct of EARLY REGISTRATION FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 31, 2026 𝙩𝙤 𝙁𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 27, 2026.

All public schools, Community Learning Centers(CLCs), are directed to comduct the early registration for the following learners:

A. Incoming Kindergarten learners;
B. Learners entering basic education for the first time, including out-of-school youth and adults;
C. Transferees to public schools;
D. Incoming Grades 1, 7, and 11 learners; and
E. Potential Alternative Learning System(ALS) learners.

Thru close communication with Hilotongan IS maintenance team, they sent engineers to the site to inspect and repair the system. Please be informed that pursuant to the newly released Executive Order No. 54 from the Office of the Mayor, lifting the suspension of classes and directing the resumption of LIMITED face-to-face and BLENDED LEARNING MODALITIES in all public and private schools in the Municipality of Bantayan, effective immediately.
