The roar of the crowd filled the Multi-purpose Building as the College of Technologyโ€™s highly anticipated basketball tournament reached its thrilling conclusion. Under the expert guidance of coaches ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐•๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ข, the student-athletes showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The tournament kicked off with a high-energy showdown between the ๐Ÿ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ and ๐Ÿ‘๐ซ๐ ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ students. In an impressive display of rookie talent, the freshmen secured the first win of the series, earning their spot in the next stage of the bracket.

The momentum shifted in the second game, which saw the ๐Ÿ๐ง๐ ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ face off against the ๐Ÿ’๐ญ๐ก ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ seniors. The sophomores proved to be a formidable force, clinching a victory that set the tone for their dominant run. They maintained this streak in their subsequent match against the 4th Year team, securing a second consecutive win to propel them into the championship round.

As part of the Technology Days 2026 industry insight series, graduating students of the College of Technology (COT) gathered at the Function Hall of the College of Technology Building for a transformative seminar on the topic "๐“๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐“๐ž๐œ๐ก๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ฒ: ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐„๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฌ."

The sessionโ€™s speaker ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐‘๐ก๐ž๐š ๐Œ. (Site Process Lead from Xerox | Lexmark Cebu), provided a roadmap for navigating the increasingly automated professional world. With her deep expertise in process management, she addressed the anxieties and opportunities presented by the rapid integration of artificial intelligence and robotics in the workplace.

Central to the speakerโ€™s discussion was the concept of a Human-Machine Partnership. Rather than viewing technology as a replacement for human labor, she urged students to see it as a powerful collaborator.

"The goal isn't to compete with the machine, but to master the partnership," the speaker explained. She detailed how modern industries are shifting toward environments where data-heavy, repetitive tasks are handled by technology, allowing humans to focus on higher-level decision-making and innovation.

The seminar shed light on the shifting nature of employment. The speaker highlighted that while many traditional job descriptions are disappearing, new roles are emerging that require a "tech-fluent" mindset. The focus of work is moving away from manual ex*****on toward:

Addressing unique challenges that algorithms are not yet equipped to handle.

Despite the surge in automation, the speaker emphasized that certain human attributes remain beyond the reach of technology. These "durable skills" are what will set the Class of 2026 apart in the job market. Key takeaways included the continued importance of:

Making nuanced judgments that consider social and moral implications.
