𝐌𝐫. & 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐎𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭

The Mr. and Ms. College of Technology (COT) 2026 pageant concluded successfully, recognizing outstanding students for their confidence, talent, and excellence across multiple competition categories. The event highlighted not only stage presence and style but also advocacy, personality, and audience impact.

Crowned as this year’s 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 were 𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐧 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧, who impressed the judges and audience with their overall performance throughout the competition.

The 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐔𝐩 titles were awarded to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐋𝐚𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐨 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐃𝐚ñ𝐨, while 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐎𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐝 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚 were named 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐔𝐩.

𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐧 emerged as the night’s most decorated contestant, achieving a "grand slam" with five distinct titles. His versatility earned him recognition for stage presence (𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫), charisma (𝐌𝐫. 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜), and consistency in attire, including 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦, 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫, and the purpose-driven 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲.

The women’s division saw a more competitive distribution of accolades. 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧 secured a double victory for𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 and 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦, while 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨 established herself as both a judge and crowd favorite by clinching 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 and the 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.

Other specialized honors were awarded to 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚 (𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜), 𝐌𝐬. 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐃𝐚ñ𝐨 (𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫), and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐨𝐳𝐜𝐨 (𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞).

The roar of the crowd filled the Multi-purpose Building as the College of Technology’s highly anticipated basketball tournament reached its thrilling conclusion. Under the expert guidance of coaches 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐎𝐲𝐚𝐨 and 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢, the student-athletes showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The tournament kicked off with a high-energy showdown between the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 and 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 students. In an impressive display of rookie talent, the freshmen secured the first win of the series, earning their spot in the next stage of the bracket.

The momentum shifted in the second game, which saw the 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 face off against the 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 seniors. The sophomores proved to be a formidable force, clinching a victory that set the tone for their dominant run. They maintained this streak in their subsequent match against the 4th Year team, securing a second consecutive win to propel them into the championship round.

The final match brought the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 and 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 teams head-to-head in a battle for the title. While the freshmen fought valiantly, the sophomores’ chemistry and tactical ex*****on eventually overwhelmed their opponents.

The highlight of the championship game was the spectacular performance of 𝐁𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞 “𝐁𝐨𝐲” 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧. With a remarkable offensive display, Berdin led his team with a total of 𝟐𝟏 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬, consistently breaking through the defense and securing crucial baskets under pressure. Following his standout contribution to the team's success, Berdin was officially declared the 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 (𝐌𝐕𝐏) of the tournament.

Adding to the excitement of the tournament was a special exhibition game between the 𝐀𝐋𝐂𝐔 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬 and the 𝐂𝐎𝐓 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢. The match served as a nostalgic yet competitive display of talent, bringing together former students and seasoned athletes. In a fast-paced encounter that kept the audience on the edge of their seats, the ALCU Players ultimately emerged victorious, showcasing a high level of coordination and experience on the court.

𝐂𝐎𝐓 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲

As part of the Technology Days 2026 industry insight series, graduating students of the College of Technology (COT) gathered at the Function Hall of the College of Technology Building for a transformative seminar on the topic "𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬."

The session’s speaker 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐡𝐞𝐚 𝐌. 𝐘𝐮 (Site Process Lead from Xerox | Lexmark Cebu), provided a roadmap for navigating the increasingly automated professional world. With her deep expertise in process management, she addressed the anxieties and opportunities presented by the rapid integration of artificial intelligence and robotics in the workplace.

𝐀 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐄𝐫𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧-𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲

Central to the speaker’s discussion was the concept of a Human-Machine Partnership. Rather than viewing technology as a replacement for human labor, she urged students to see it as a powerful collaborator.

"The goal isn't to compete with the machine, but to master the partnership," the speaker explained. She detailed how modern industries are shifting toward environments where data-heavy, repetitive tasks are handled by technology, allowing humans to focus on higher-level decision-making and innovation.

The seminar shed light on the shifting nature of employment. The speaker highlighted that while many traditional job descriptions are disappearing, new roles are emerging that require a "tech-fluent" mindset. The focus of work is moving away from manual ex*****on toward:

Room 6 fell into a studious silence as the brightest minds in the College of Technology traded buzzers for pens for the Technology Days 2026 Written Quiz Bowl. Unlike traditional oral formats, this year’s competition demanded absolute precision and technical depth across several grueling written sets. The participants took an hour of intensive testing covering Mathematics (Mathematics in the Modern World and Comprehensive Math), Science (Chemistry and Physics), and ICT (Information & Communications Technology). The final scores revealed the college’s top tech elite.

Clinching the top spot this year, is 𝐂𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞 (BSIT-3A) who successfully defended his title, having also been declared Champion of the 2025 Quiz Bowl. Crame demonstrated an incredible command of the written format, maintaining a near-perfect score across all rounds. 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐭 (BIT-1A) secured a hard-fought 1st place finish, while 𝐊𝐡𝐲𝐥𝐥 𝐊𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐜 (BIT-1BE) rounded out the podium in 2nd place, proving his mettle against a highly competitive field of participants.

The standards of this year's competition were set by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐭, who meticulously authored the official mechanics and the challenging Test Question Sets (TQS), while 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧 served as the official facilitator.

The Written Quiz Bowl remains the flagship event of Technology Days, aiming to foster academic excellence and rigorous technical standards within the STEM community.

The roar of precision and the focus of high-level engineering were on full display as Jared J. Sabandal was named the Champion of the 2026 Circuit Assembly Contest. Held during the annual Technology Days, the competition challenged students to transform complex schematics into functional, efficient hardware under strict time constraints.

Facilitated by Engr. Andrew Cabasan, the contest is designed to simulate real-world rapid prototyping environments. Participants were judged on speed, logical layout, and the ultimate functionality of their assembled circuits.
