| USJ-R Produces Two CPALE 2026 Topnotchers; Sole Cebu-Based University with Board Exam Placers
The University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) once again demonstrated its excellence in accountancy education after producing two topnotchers in the May 2026 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE).
Leading the university's outstanding performance are Mr. Blas Miguel V. Escarro, who secured 4th Place, and Ms. Joan Alliah M. Carilimdiliman, who achieved 10th Place in the national licensure examination.
With this achievement, USJ-R stands as the only Cebu-based university to produce CPALE topnotchers in the May 2026 examination, further solidifying its reputation as one of the country's leading institutions in accountancy education.
During the press conference, Mr. Escarro and Ms. Carilimdiliman shared their gratitude to the university community and encouraged future CPA aspirants to remain disciplined, focused, and resilient in pursuing their professional goals.
The university also recognizes the dedication of the School of Business and Management (SBM)faculty, mentors, and the USJ-R CPA Review Center in helping shape future accounting professionals.

USJ-R and Shiraume Gakuen Seishu Strengthen Global Ties Through Student Exchange Partnership
University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R) and Shiraume Gakuen Seishu Junior and Senior High School formally convened for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony for the Student Cultural Exchange and Immersion Program.
Through this partnership, students from Shiraume Gakuen Seishu will have the opportunity to attend classes, participate in school activities, and share Japanese culture, fostering mutual understanding and meaningful cross-cultural engagement.
This collaboration aims to strengthen internationalization efforts by providing students with enriching classroom immersions, cultural experiences, and homestay opportunities. Together, both institutions are committed to promoting global learning, cultural appreciation, and lasting international friendships.

USJ-R Juris Doctor Commencement Exercises 2026
A total of 147 Juris Doctor graduates were formally conferred their degrees during the Commencement Exercises held at the Recoletos Coliseum. The ceremony marked another milestone for the University of San Jose–Recoletos (USJ-R), which has been offering its law program for almost seven decades, producing generations of legal professionals committed to service, justice, and excellence.
In her commencement address, Class 2026 Cum Laude Destinee A. Noor shared her own meaning of the word “BAR”—Believe and Bravery, Aspire and Accountability, and Resilience.
Noor encouraged her fellow graduates to believe in themselves as they prepare for the Bar Examinations and to remain courageous in upholding truth and defending the unheard. She also urged them to aspire for growth and purpose while staying accountable and grounded in humility.
Reflecting on their law school journey, Noor emphasized the importance of resilience, reminding her classmates that despite challenges and setbacks, they have proven their ability to overcome difficult mountains.
The graduates now move forward to the next stage of their legal careers, carrying with them the values of belief, bravery, aspiration, accountability, and resilience

Thanksgiving Mass for the Juris Doctor Graduates
A Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated in gratitude for the remarkable journey of the Juris Doctor graduates, honoring the challenges they overcame, the lessons they learned, and the milestones they achieved on their path to joining the legal profession.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Don H. Besana, OAR, Vice President for Business and Finance, reminded the graduates that their accomplishments are not merely milestones to celebrate but signs of greater responsibilities they are called to embrace in society. He encouraged them to be lawyers with a heart—professionals who uphold justice with compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serving others.
