.. University of Cebu (UC) was the very first university from Central Visayas that clinched the national title in the 10-year history of PSC. This happened in 2015, when Team TeamseyRoll pitched their app, E-Basura, which sought to educate Filipinos on proper e-waste disposal and management.

University of Cebu Chairman Atty. Augusto W. Go has announced that the college classes will start on August 4, 2025, for all UC Campuses.

The Council of Deans for Information Technology Education held a significant activity on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Cebu Institute of Technology - University. The event began with the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected CODITE7 officers led by Dr. Jameson Lim of CHED RO7, marking an important moment for the council’s leadership. Following this, discussions were held on the integration of Generative AI (GenAI) in Education where Dr. Cris Jordan Aliac was the speaker, focusing on its potential impact and applications within the academic field. The session also addressed various issues and concerns in IT education, providing a platform for the deans to collaborate and develop solutions. Dr. Cherry Lyn Sta. Romana also presented the plans of the council for A.Y. 2024-2025.
