#πππππππππ | The University of the Visayas, through the International Affairs Department, proudly hosted the first-of-its-kind regional capacity-building workshop on Diplomatic Protocol in Higher Education, in collaboration with CHED Region 7 and AIRO Region 7.
Held on May 28 at the Inday Teresing Auditorium, the workshop brought together HEI leaders and international relations officers from across Central Visayas to strengthen diplomatic readiness, institutional protocol, external relations, and internationalization practices.
More than a workshop, this milestone reflects UVβs growing role as a regional hub for internationalization dialogue, collaboration, and capacity-building.

| Advancing Youth Participation and Internationalization Dialogue
The University of the Visayas β International Affairs Department met with National Youth Commission Commissioner representing the Visayas, Assistant Secretary Juanquine βWackyβ Racho Castro, to discuss possible areas of collaboration focusing on internationalization (IZN), youth engagement, and strengthening opportunities for young people in the Visayas.
The discussion highlighted the importance of maximizing youth participation in policy consultations, leadership initiatives, and collaborative programs that empower the youth sector to actively contribute to regional and national development. UV likewise shared its ongoing efforts in promoting global citizenship, student engagement, and inclusive internationalization initiatives within the University community.
The meeting also explored how UV can further participate in consultations and programs that aim to improve the welfare, representation, and development of the youth in the Visayas through stronger collaboration between higher education institutions and government agencies.
This initiative aligns with the Universityβs commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

| UV-Tamagoyu Japan Internship Program is now on its 3rd batch of applications! π―π΅β¨
Today, the University of the Visayas, through the International Affairs Department and in coordination with the College of Business Administration, held the initial interview for the third batch of applications for the UV-Tamagoyu Japan Internship Program, continuing to open global pathways for our students in Hospitality Management and Tourism Management. This batch includes a new pool of applicants from the UV Main Campus, and for the first time, students from the UV Toledo Campus also joined the application pool.
This development marks another meaningful step in expanding international opportunities across the different UV campuses, allowing more Visayanians to gain access to global industry exposure, intercultural learning, and transformative internship experiences in Japan.
This is in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, as UV continues to create inclusive and globally relevant learning opportunities for its students.

Through the bilateral partnership between ESPOL in Lille, France, and the University of the Visayas, one 3L student from the UV Gullas Law School, Mr. John Niel Tigoy, has been accepted as an exchange student for the Fall Semester 2026β2027 at ESPOL, UniversitΓ© Catholique de Lille.
This academic mobility will allow Mr. Tigoy to spend a full semester in France, where he will engage in the study of Public International Law and European Law within a globally oriented academic environment. His participation reflects the growing international pathways available to UV students, particularly in legal education, diplomacy, international relations, and cross-border academic exchange.
This milestone also reaffirms the University of the Visayasβ commitment to providing students with meaningful global learning experiences through strengthened institutional partnerships.
