🇵🇭 REMINDER TO THE ENTIRE THREE H REDWOOD INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL (THRIS) COMMUNITY!
The Flag Ceremony is not just a routine—it is a mark of honor, a duty, and a shared responsibility rooted in our laws and values.
📜 WHY WE DO IT
It is mandatory in all Philippine schools under Republic Act No. 8491 (Flag and Heraldic Code) and Republic Act No. 1265. Every student, teacher, and staff member is required to participate fully and respectfully.
📅 SCHEDULE TO REMEMBER
✅ Monday Morning: Flag Raising Ceremony
✅ Friday Afternoon: Flag Retreat / Lowering of the Flag
Attendance is REQUIRED for all members of the school community.
📋 CORRECT ORDER OF THE PROGRAM (DepEd Order No. 50, s. 2015)
1. Lupang Hinirang (National Anthem) – Sung while the flag is raised
2. Interfaith Prayer / Opening Prayer – Recited immediately after the anthem
3. Pledge of Allegiance to the Philippine Flag – Right hand placed over the chest while reciting
🧭 PROPER BEHAVIOR & DISCIPLINE
• Stand straight and face the flag with respect
• Civilians: Place your right hand over your chest
• Uniformed personnel (scouts, military, security): Render the proper salute
• All vehicles inside the school grounds MUST STOP while the National Anthem is being played

It is our way of showing love for our country, honoring our national symbols and freedom, and reminding ourselves of our duties as Filipino citizens.
