We provide practical tips, and natural solutions to help you manage and prevent diabetes.
Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge to maintain healthy blood sugar levels and improve your overall well-being. Hello, and welcome to the Diabetes Health Guide community! My name is Raymundo Basco/Mon Torres, and I’m thrilled to share my journey and insights as a Type 1 diabetic with you. I was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 32, and over the past 15 years, I’ve learned a lot about
living with this condition and how it intersects with my passion for hiking and trekking. As someone who has experienced the challenges that come with managing diabetes during outdoor activities, I understand the concerns that many diabetic individuals face when venturing into nature. Whether it’s worries about blood sugar fluctuations, the need for constant monitoring, or how to fuel your body properly, navigating these elements can sometimes be overwhelming. That’s why I’m dedicated to helping fellow diabetics thrive in their hiking and trekking adventures. Through this page, I aim to promote a proactive approach to managing diabetes. This approach emphasizes understanding how our bodies respond dynamically to different physical activities, food choices, and environmental factors. I believe that with the right knowledge and strategies, we can not only manage our diabetes effectively but also enhance our outdoor experiences. My Journey
My journey began when I first received my diagnosis. Like many of you, I was initially apprehensive about how diabetes would affect my lifestyle, particularly my love for the outdoors. However, I quickly realized that with proper planning and a supportive community, I could continue to engage in the hiking and trekking activities I love. Over the years, I’ve explored various trails, faced both triumphs and setbacks, and have learned valuable lessons along the way. Each hike has taught me something new about my body’s responses, from the importance of consistent carbohydrate intake to the impact of altitude and temperature on my glycemic levels. These experiences inspired me to create this space where I can share insights, tips, and encouragement for managing diabetes while enjoying the great outdoors. What You Can Expect
