𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓: 𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔'𝐒 𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄

In a significant step toward strengthening employment pathways for young people and job seekers, the Department of Manpower Development and Placement–Cebu City (DMDP), the Department of Labor and Employment Region 7 (DOLE-7), and the University of Cebu–Main Campus formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room on August 19, 2026. The partnership brings together government and higher education in a shared commitment to connect talent with opportunities, strengthen workforce readiness, and create more responsive employment initiatives for the community.

The ceremony was graced by Hon. Mayor Nestor Archival and DOLE 7 Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Buenafe, whose presence underscored the importance of collaborative governance and education in shaping a responsive workforce. Representing the University of Cebu Main were Dr. Yolanda C. Sayson, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Rex T. Argate, Associate Campus Director for Academics; and Mr. Pedro O. Quinal Jr., SAO Director and Job Placement Manager. More than a ceremonial signing, the MOA marks a shared commitment to translate institutional cooperation into concrete opportunities through employment facilitation, career development, workforce preparation, and stronger linkages between graduates and the labor market.

At its heart, this partnership is about more than finding jobs; it is about creating pathways toward dignified work, sustainable careers, and a more empowered workforce.

𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄

The University of Cebu–Main Campus successfully completed its ISO 9001:2015 Re-certification Audit conducted by Bureau Veritas on August 17–18, 2026. The two-day audit served as an important assessment of the University’s Quality Management System, examining the effectiveness of its processes, implementation of planned arrangements, compliance with applicable requirements, and commitment to continual improvement. The audit covered key academic programs and support services across the campus, reflecting UC-Main’s institution-wide commitment to maintaining quality, consistency, and service excellence.

Among the academic programs visited were Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation (Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering), Master of Business Administration – Academic and Professional Track, Master of Science in Teaching, and Doctor of Education. The audit also verified the compliance of support offices, including the Registrar, Medical-Dental Clinic, Library, Guidance, Scholarship, UC CARES, Research, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Purchasing, Cashier and Accounting, Building Maintenance, and Electronic Data Processing. These engagements provided opportunities to demonstrate documented processes, operational controls, performance monitoring, and the University’s continuing efforts to improve its delivery of services to students and stakeholders.

More than a compliance exercise, the successful re-certification audit represents UC-Main’s continuing culture of quality, continuous improvement, and institutional excellence. As UC-Main moves forward, this milestone is not an endpoint but a renewed commitment to upholding standards, strengthening systems, and advancing a culture of excellence that creates better experiences and meaningful outcomes for every UCian.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: Please be advised that all continuing/old students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform starting Monday, August 17, 2026.

Meanwhile, new students, including transferees, may continue wearing civilian attire, provided that such attire complies with the University's provisions on proper attire, until next week.

The University of Cebu-Main marked a significant beginning as first-year college students and transferees gathered for the General Orientation on August 10, 2026 (Monday) at the Cebu Coliseum, setting the stage for their journey as new members of the UC community.

More than an introduction to university life, the orientation served as a meaningful starting point for students as they gained a deeper understanding of the University’s policies, support services, health and safety protocols, scholarship opportunities, and various forms of student assistance. These essential guides equipped them with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate their academic journey with confidence.

Adding energy and excitement to the gathering was a showcase of UC talents, highlighting the creativity, passion, and diverse abilities that continue to make the UC community vibrant.

As they begin this new chapter, the newest UCnians are reminded that every great journey starts with a step and at UC, that step leads toward hope, excellence, and a future filled with possibilities.

, your safety is our priority!

To further strengthen the safety and security of our community, we are reimplementing the “NO ID, NO ENTRY” policy at the UC Main Campus this semester, starting Monday, August 10, 2026.

All students, including Student Interns and students with uniform accommodations, must present their validated UC School ID upon entry and wear it while inside the campus.

The School ID must be worn in a manner that allows it to be clearly visible and readily identifiable without any obstruction.
