A productive discussion on the proposed Organic Gardening and Permaculture Project was conducted at the NEXUSS Office, attended by Dr. Larmie Feliscuzo, Ms. Jessa Marie B. Gamboa, and Mr. Roberto Bajenting. The meeting focused on the proposed project costing, land preparation, organic farming materials, technical requirements, and additional options for the infinity garden setup. Last May 9, 2026, the team gathered to explore sustainable and innovative approaches anchored on the principles of permaculture, environmental stewardship, and community-based food sustainability.
Among the key topics discussed were:
๐ฑ Land preparation and excavation requirements
๐ฑ Development of the infinity garden setup
๐ฑ Use of organic farming materials such as garden soil, cardboard, and dried leaves for mulching
๐ฑ Sustainable and eco-friendly cultivation practices
๐ฑ Estimated labor and technical requirements
๐ฑ Inclusion of a possible native chicken setup
๐ฑ Procurement of garden tools and materials
The discussion also emphasized the importance of responsible land management and the use of environmentally appropriate materials in support of long-term sustainability and regenerative farming systems.

Last May 8, 2026, the SHINE Program successfully conducted Session 4: โData Collection and Analysis,โ gathering 47 participants for an engaging and transformative research seminar led by Dr. Leonardo Munalim, Full-Time Professor and Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of the University of San Jose-Recoletos.
Anchored on the universityโs commitment to innovation, research excellence, and sustainable development, the session emphasized the vital role of ethical and evidence-based research in addressing real-world societal challenges. Through discussions on qualitative and quantitative methodologies, data analysis strategies, and scholarly writing practices, participants strengthened their competencies in conducting meaningful and impactful research.
Dr. Munalim highlighted the importance of:

โข Critical thinking and reflexivity in research
โข Data credibility and responsible interpretation
โข Evidence-based decision-making
โข Strategic academic writing and innovation
Participants were also introduced to various research tools and software such as NVivo, MAXQDA, Netlytic, and UAM Corpus Tool, equipping them with modern research skills essential for academic and professional growth in the digital age.

The International Mobilization and Affairs Office (IMAO) of Cebu Institute of Technology โ University is now accepting applications for the Internationalization (IZN) Ambassador Program, with approximately 15 available slots open to bona fide college students of the university.
The program aims to empower globally minded students to become leaders, cultural connectors, and advocates of internationalization within the university. As IZN Ambassadors, students will help foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students while promoting CIT-Uโs global identity through mentorship, cultural engagement, and outreach initiatives.
