Third year CE's simulate board exam at Quadri Campus

As early as third year, USJ-R CE students have already been exposed to high level and high pressure board exam environment though the mock board exam for Reinforced Concrete Design course conducted on May 20, 2026.

With a perfectly large venue at the 6th floor of the USJ-R Quadricentennial Building that can hold at least 120 students with ample exam distancing, the examination is assured to be of highest degree of integrity and discipline.

With this, we are hoping to shape the mindset of our students to keep their eyes on the goal of becoming a future civil engineer.

USJ-R CE Department Simulates Board Exam

The USJ-R Civil Engineering Department has taken a bold step to prepare our graduating CE students for the ultimate challenge, the CE Licensure Exam scheduled about six months after graduation.

As part of their integrated review courses, a mock board exam was conducted to mirror the real experience. Students wore the official board exam attire, sat under strict proctoring, and were required to work independently. No shortcuts, no compromises. And more importantly, the questions in the test papers reflect actual board exam coverage and level of difficulty.

This initiative goes beyond testing knowledge. It’s about mindset formation. Many students fail not because they lack the answers, but because they are unprepared mentally for the pressure and discipline the exam demands. Through this simulation, we aim to condition their focus, strengthen resilience, and instill the confidence needed to succeed.

By cultivating this mindset early, we hope to raise the board exam passing rate and guide every Josenian CE student toward the pinnacle of success which is becoming a licensed civil engineer.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing away of our beloved Vice President for Administration, Rev. Fr. William Emilito C. Villaflor, OAR.

Fr. William returned to our creator on April 19, 2026, at 11:19 PM, at the age of 63.

We invite the community to join us in prayer for the eternal repose of his soul. We remain deeply grateful for his years of dedicated service, leadership, and spiritual guidance to the Order of Augustinian Recollects and in particular, the University of San Jose-Recoletos.

"Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."
