The College of Science (COS) has officially gained access to the 7th floor of the Science Building following a turnover ceremony with Dakay Construction and Development Corp. on May 11, 2026.

The 7th floor is designated for new lecture halls and laboratories, significantly expanding the college's capacity for theoretical and experimental work. This turnover follows the phased opening of the building, which began with the ground floor in late 2023 and was followed by the 2nd through 6th floors housing the Math, Statistics, Computer Science, and Biology programs.

While the 7th floor is now under university jurisdiction, the administration targets full occupancy and utilization by the first semester of the next academic year. Work continues on the remaining levels and the procurement of specialized laboratory equipment to meet the growing needs of the student population.

The College of Science, University of the Philippines Cebu proudly announces the upcoming PASIDUNGOG 2026: Recognition Rites for the College of Science Academic Honorific Scholars.

With the theme “Honor, Excellence, and Service: Iskolars Advancing Scientific Knowledge for Society,” this special event celebrates the outstanding academic achievements and contributions of our honorific scholars for A.Y 2024-2025.

The Recognition Rites will be held face-to-face on April 29, 2026, at the Performing Arts Hall (PAH), UP Cebu.

We are also honored to have Arvin S. Arbuis as our guest speaker, who will share inspiring insights with our scholars and community.

The Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (ACLE) in University of the Philippines Cebu is more than just a break from regular classes, it’s a day dedicated to learning beyond the syllabus.

From discussions and pressing social issues to creative workshops and interactive sessions, ACLE brings together a wide range of topics, facilitated by invited speakers, student organizations, and advocates. It’s a space where ideas are challenged, perspectives are broadened, and conversations matter.

Organized by the UPC USC alongside the Unified Student Organization (UNISO), ACLE is designed to be student-driven, engaging, and relevant to the times.

Held once every semester, ACLE brings the entire campus together for a half-day to whole-day of simultaneous sessions, giving you the freedom to choose what you want to learn.

DOST SA UP Cebu announce a schedule adjustment for 'ISKODIGO 2026: The Next Lunar Leap' originally set on April 22, 2026, from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Interactive Learning Center (ILC): the program will be rescheduled on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The adjustment ensures optimal conditions for the conduct of the event and upholds the standards of excellence expected of the program, and we appreciate your understanding and continued cooperation as further updates will be released accordingly. The UP College of Science once again asserts its academic and competitive excellence after securing its third Iskolaro Championship title, marking a continued legacy of dominance and distinction in the university-wide competition.

In a formal turnover ceremony, Dean Alvin Roxas received the championship trophy from Ms. Joanalyn Cadampog, Chairperson of the UP Cebu Sciences Federation, together with the Sciences Federation officers and student representatives from the various academic programs under the College of Science. The moment reflects not only victory, but the collective strength, collaboration, and unity of disciplines that define the College.

As the Golden Scions celebrate a back-to-back triumph, the achievement stands as a testament to sustained excellence, shared purpose, and the enduring pursuit of academic and organizational distinction.
