The University of Cebu Chairman, Atty. Augusto W. Go, along with the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yolanda C. Sayson, collaborated with TESDA Region VII and CHED Region VII to officiate the signing of the MOA for the PQF Level 5 Diploma Programs.

The upcoming rollout of these programs in Semiconductor, Manufacturing, and Allied fields is a step forward in building a highly skilled, future-ready workforce.

FYI: There will be no work and no classes across all University of Cebu (UC) campuses on August 6 and 21, 2026, as these dates have been declared as special non-working holidays in observance of Provincial Charter Day and Ninoy Aquino Day, respectively.

Moreover, work and classes across all UC campuses will be suspended on August 31 in observance of National Heroes Day.

Three Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from the University of Cebuโ€“Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) bagged the championship title at the Paytaca CASH 3.0 Hackathon 2026, held August 1โ€“2, 2026, at Summit Galleria Cebu.

The winning team, Benedict Avenido, Jade Mykel Ventic, and Argee Paquibot, coached by Benedict Castro, outperformed 11 other Visayas schools to take home the โ‚ฑ75,000 grand prize.

The University of Cebu proudly joined higher education institutions, academic leaders, and innovators from across the globe at the 1st AUAP-WURI Summit 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Representing the University was Dr. Ofelia G. Mana, Vice-Chancellor for Business Development and Innovation, accompanied by Francis Jose Lean L. Abayata, who represented two institutional cases demonstrating UC's commitment to innovation, industry collaboration, and community engagement.
