Greenian Scrabblers ecstatically beamed as they secured wins during the final day of the Causeway Ranking Cup PH held at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Zac Rafaeli F. Sabangan emerged as the 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗢𝗡 in the Elementary Division, securing 5 overall wins and a spread of -260. After winning an intense last game against another title contender, he ranked first out of 6 elementary players, a significant milestone as a rising player in the scene of competitive scrabble.

In the Overall Youth Division, Zyrah Ysabelle T. Longakit rose triumphant after finishing as 2𝗡𝗗 𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥-𝗨𝗣, garnering 9 wins out of 14 and a spread of +247. Despite losing her chance in clinching the title after finishing her last game with a close spread of -44, she still concluded the event with jubilation after ranking 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗽 11 out of 52 players in the Open Category, consequently ranking 𝗧𝗼𝗽 3 out of 29 players in the Youth Category. In the Beginners Division, John Dominic D. Barles didn’t fail to establish his spot as a rising player after conquering the side-event as the 1𝗦𝗧 𝗥𝗨𝗡𝗡𝗘𝗥-𝗨𝗣. He ultimately garnered 4 wins out of 5, signifying his potential as a developing trainee.

The Causeway Ranking Cup PH was organized by the Unified Scrabble Association of the Philippines (USAPI), together with the Cebu Scrabble Association (CSA), serving as a stepping stone for the upcoming Causeway Challenge 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand — one of the grandest international tournaments with over 500 players in the field of competitive scrabble.

More than the thrill of competition, this milestone tells a story of growth, humility, and connection. The tournament became a meaningful space where schools did not only compete but built stronger bonds, shared values, and celebrated the spirit of unity through sports.

Facing well-established teams from different universities, GRCA stepped onto the court with courage and gratitude. Every game became a lesson, every moment a step forward. This experience has surely left a lasting and meaningful impact on our student-athletes, strengthening not only their skills but also their character, discipline, and confidence.

Yesterday's heat became intense inside SM City Consolacion during the games as after 6 striking rounds, Angel Criszel A. Tautho emerged as overall champion and Best Under 14 Player with straight 6 winning streaks and 0 losses!

Zyrah Ysabelle T. Longakit did not also fail to show off and placed 2nd after achieving 4 well-played rounds 😊
