Today, March 14 (3.14), Sta Lucia NHS celebrates one of mathematics' most intriguing and enigmatic constants. Pi (π), which is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, has long captivated mathematicians, scientists, and enthusiasts.

Pi isn't only a theoretical idea in mathematics; it also exists in many fields of science and technology and has even sparked the creativity of singers, novelists, and other creatives. From the intricate designs of Islamic architecture to the melancholy melodies of composer Michael Blake's "Pi Symphony," its enigmatic and infinite nature has served as an inspiration for countless works of art, literature, and music.

Hence, let's pause today to marvel at pi's beauty and majesty. Pi serves as a constant reminder of the limitless potential of human curiosity and ingenuity, regardless of whether the person is a mathematician, a scientist, an artist, or simply someone who enjoys learning. Cheers to Pi Day!

KASIKAS 2024

National Arts Month is celebrated annually throughout February in the Philippines. The events and activities that take place during this month are geared toward showcasing the artistic talent of Filipinos, as well as providing avenues for artists to channel their creative energies.

Bannering the theme “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain,” NAM 2024 aims to outline the notion that the bountiful harvest of a Filipino creative nation is derived from collective human imagination, not just individual aspirations. Bayang Malikhain signifies a Filipino society that places a high value on imagination, innovation, and artistic expression as integral components of our identity and progress. In Bayang Malikhain, artistic pursuits are honored as vital contributions to the nation’s development and cultural richness.

Hence, we created an event locally called KASIKAS meaning Noise. We make noise to honor the artistic excellence and acclaim the uniqueness and diversity of Filipino heritage and culture. With the support of the MAPEH Department and the Lucinian Family spearheaded by our dynamic School Principal Mr. Henry Espina Jr., the celebration of National Arts Month (NAM) 2024 this February by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 683 issued in 1991 culminates on March 1, 2024.
