"𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙡𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚."

For 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗥. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮, a 3rd-year BSCE student and ESAS Scholar, the road to success hasn't always been a straight line. Reflecting on a challenging probationary period during her first year, Princess shares how a "slap by reality" ultimately strengthened her resolve and her foundation in faith.
"I survived up until this year because of faith," she says. "It’s been a long journey, but with God guiding me, there’s nothing to be worried about. He got me. He got you."

To navigate the demands of engineering, Princess relies on a balanced blend of disciplined strategy and intentional self-care.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆

Princess believes that success begins with deep intentionality and self-awareness. She emphasizes the importance of noting down everything and mentally tracking your own study habits to build a sustainable momentum. When it is time to work, she advocates for total immersion — shutting down social media and eliminating distractions to give your absolute everything to a specific subject. Beyond individual effort, she highlights the power of community, encouraging students to surround themselves with peers who share the same goals and to never hesitate when seeking or offering help with study materials.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀

Maintaining that energy requires a practical approach to physical and mental well-being. To stay alert and active during midnight sessions, Princess swears by keeping "focus snacks" like 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝘁𝘀 on her study table. She also views food as a vital "comfort buddy," using it to compensate for lost sleep and to boost her spirits during heavy exam weeks. To prevent burnout, she recommends a rhythmic approach: alternating between periods of intense focus and short breaks with entertainment videos to reset when the mind feels full.
Above all, Princess reminds us to stay grounded. While schoolwork is a priority, taking care of yourself and enjoying the process is what truly sustains the journey. As she puts it: 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴!

For this week’s #𝗲𝘀𝗔𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗘 scholar, success was never about waiting for inspiration. Over time, discipline stopped feeling forced and became identity, not someone trying to study, but someone who is a scholar.

Much like the principles of highly effective individuals, growth begins within through intentional habits, clear priorities, and consistent action. Excellence isn’t achieved in bursts of inspiration, but in the quiet, repeated decisions to improve day by day.
