"The time has come for another vanguard of justice and rule of law to sit on the bench."

Under Section 4 of Article 10 of the 2025 CNU Main-Supreme Student Council Constitution, the "Judicial Admission Council (JAC) is established as an independent and impartial body within the Judicial Branch, tasked with screening, evaluating, and recommending nominees for positions in the Supreme Student Court, as well as overseeing related judicial matters."

On July 24, 2025, the Judicial Admission Council (JAC) conducted a thorough and rigorous screening process for the next justices of the Supreme Student Court. Among all the applicants, one has risen for the challenge of overseeing and managing an entire branch of the Supreme Student Council. The new Chief Justice of the Supreme Student Court is Mr. Prince Rodze Apare.

The Court is still seeking for Justices---the bench remains incomplete. The CNU Supreme Student Court, with the appointment of the Chief Justice, is still looking for four (4) Associate Justices to aid in the administration of justice in our university and complete the members of the judicial branch. For those interested, the application is extended and open. We eagerly await for the next vanguards of justice to step up.

𝐏𝐫𝐨 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚
𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝐿𝑎𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐽𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | The Supreme Student Court has declared the Resolution No. 11 of CPGSS SC to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL as it violates the CPGSS Interim Constitution, which explicitly mandates degree program-based representation. Further, the Court added that a resolution cannot make any modification to this structure. Any amendment, alteration, or revision must be done through a formal constitutional amendment.

The Supreme Student Court upholds the principle that legislators should prioritize their duty to legislate above all else, ensuring that lawmaking remains their first responsibility.

The Supreme Student Court upheld that the current degree program-based representation system shall remain in effect for the 2025 elections.

The Supreme Student Court directed the CPGSS-SC to wait for a constitutional amendment before formally adopting year-level representation in future elections.

The Supreme Student Court ordered the CNU Unified-Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to ensure compliance with the existing representation structure and provide guidance on necessary adjustments for the three candidates who filed under the year-level system to prevent disenfranchisement.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | Want to file a case? Here’s what to do!

In the name of justice and accountability, the Supreme Student Court shall be your pillar of strength in the impartial administration of justice in our university.

Filing a case in the Supreme Student Court is simple! Follow these steps to set you on the right path:

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝟏 : Determine what type of case you are filing and whether it meets the requirements for filing a case.

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝟐 : After the determination of the complaint or petition. Write down your case as pleadings.

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝟑 : In filling your pleadings, you must submit two copies, one (1) soft copy to be sent to the official email of the court: [email protected] and one (1) hard copy to be given to either of the two clerks of court.

𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝟒 : After the court receives the pleadings, it will notify the complainant/petitioner that the court received their complaint/petition and will notify the subject of the complaint/petition for their answer. After the Court receives the answer, the Court will provide to the complainant/petitioner and to the subject of the complaint/petition the calendar for the clarificatory conference.

𝐏𝐀𝐆𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 | On December 13, 2024, the 𝑆𝑢𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝐶𝑒𝑏𝑢 𝑁𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑙 𝑈𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑦 — 𝑆𝑢𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑙 was honored to participate in 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒂𝒚: 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒔𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒂 𝑱𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒌, an event organized by the Commission on Judicial Affairs of USJ-R SHS Supreme Student Government.

The Justices were invited to share their expertise on constitutional law and procedural frameworks. They illustrated the essentials of crafting court rules by presenting the 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞 of the Supreme Student Court of Cebu Normal University. In addition, they clarified processes related to accountability and mandates outlined in the USJ-R SHS Supreme Student Government's constitution.

This collaboration exemplifies the unyielding commitment of both institutions to foster a deeper understanding of governance and justice. By working together, they contribute to the establishment of a pioneering student court system that upholds the principles of fairness and accountability.

Organized by the CNU- SSC Judicial Branch, this seminar equipped student leaders with essential skills and knowledge in constitution drafting, policy-making, and leadership.

Light the cauldron of knowledge, ring the bell of authority, and strike the gavel of justice towards the sound block as the Supreme Student Court is now complete as the en banc unveils its newest addition to the Judiciary Branch ⚖️

In accordance with 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗜 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲, the Chief Justice is instructed to appoint two clerks for the Judiciary Branch that will put into motion the duties and responsibilities of assisting the justices in administering justice and other matters.

Lo and behold, after overcoming the process of selecting the first ever clerks, they are now ready to serve the normalites under the helm of the esteemed judiciary branch, continuing the legacy of truth and justice.
