Win@Work is a two-day boot camp that seeks to provide training & development for fresh college gradu All these skills are imperative to win in the workplace.

The perennial industry and academe gap has been the cause of mismatch between available talent and industry requirements. More often than not, the job candidates skills-set, or lack thereof fails to accurately meet, if not exceed industry expectations. Furthermore, industry has identified the top three skills they look for the most from candidates. These are ability to effectively communicate in t

he workplace, skills in problem-solving and decision-making and finally, the ability to work in teams in order to achieve business results. The job hunting process is a competition of which most fresh graduates do not realise and not getting hired is not because of the lack of intellectual capacity or the proper background but because of the lack of these critical skills to be able to market oneself into a company.

“Why should I hire you?”, the cliche question of usual job interviews is not answered by grades or the chosen degree program, though it might be a prerequisite, these things coupled with the right kind of soft skills demanded by most companies are what matters on the first hand interview. Unfortunately, these are skills not taught by most Universities. We are often failed to be taught of the realities of life and are rather solely focused on the technical academic or textbook perspective, we fail to know how these can be used in the real world. Annually, an approximate of 700,000 or more graduates join the labor force but end up being underemployed or underpaid because the requirements that entail them to pursue the job aligned with their degree most likely demands an insurmountable requirement of years of experience. Another reason is the mismatch of the labor demand and supply. Some may have landed a job but fail during the probationary period because they fail to adapt to the demands of the position. We seek to provide training and development that would help the fresh college graduates develop their critical skills in workplace communication, problem-solving and decision-making and working in teams. Know what to expect in the real world, like job hunting techniques, expected salary, rights of an employee, employee benefits, how to ace that job interview, how to write a proper letter of application and many more.
