Last Saturday, June 6, 2026, the graduating Class of 2026 of CTU-CCMC-College of Nursing celebrated the culmination of their four-year journey in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
The seventy-five (75) graduates were reminded that nursing is more than a professionโit is a lifelong responsibility to promote health, preserve dignity, and improve lives during the 50th Pinning Ceremony and 111th Commencement Exercises held at the Santuario Arquidiocesano de Nuestra Seรฑora del Carmen, La Limpia, and the CebuTech Gymnatorium, respectively.
The day commenced with the Baccalaureate Mass presided over by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Roberto F. Alesna, P.A. In his homily, he encouraged the graduates to remain grateful for their experiences, to continue pursuing their dreams, and to uphold humility and kindness even amidst lifeโs challenges. Following the Mass, Nurse Monaliza A. Binagatan, RN, LPT, formally called the graduates for their Pinning Ceremony.
At 1:00 PM, the Commencement Exercises began at the CebuTech Gymnatorium, with Nurse Charles Jay C. Olila, RN, and Nurse Joanfrenzy Niรฑa A. Carreon, RN, serving as Masters of Ceremony. Present during the ceremony were the faculty, staff, and administration of CTU-CCMC College of Nursing headed by Dr. Audrey L. Garganera, MAN, RN, LPT, Dean of the College of Nursing; representatives from Cebu City Medical Center led by Dr. Anton Oliver A. Reposar, AFCPCP, FPSMI, MSPHHA, Chief of Hospital, and Nurse Niรฑa Antonette S. Villamor, MN, RN, Chief Nurse; and Cebu City Government officials headed by Hon. Mayor Nestor D. Archival, Hon. Nice Archival, Cebu City Councilor, and Hon. Joel C. Garganera, Cebu City Councilor.
Also in attendance were members of the CTU Main Campus Administration headed by Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, University President; Dr. Raamah C. Rosales, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences; Dr. Gregorio P. Pajaron, Campus Director; and Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Following the induction of the seventy-five (75) graduates, Ms. Ilda J. Racoma, Valedictorian of the Class of 2026, delivered her emotional valedictory address. She reflected on the sleepless nights, sacrifices, tears, and challenges that shaped her and her classmates into competent and compassionate future nurses. She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to their clinical instructors and professors for their unwavering guidance, dedication, and commitment to molding them into healthcare professionals ready to serve society.
Additionally, Hon. Mayor Nestor D. Archival delivered a congratulatory message before the graduates and their families. In his address, he commended the Class of 2026 for their perseverance, sacrifices, and dedication in completing the rigorous Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. He emphasized the vital role of nurses in strengthening the healthcare system and encouraged the graduates to serve with competence, integrity, and compassion as they embark on their professional careers. He likewise expressed his confidence that the graduates would become valuable contributors to their communities and future leaders in the nursing profession.
Nurse Victoria Leslie Ingram, MPA, RN, a distinguished alumna from the Class of 2018, served as the guest speaker for the graduating class. In her inspirational message, she encouraged the graduates to embrace every opportunity for growth, remain steadfast in their commitment to compassionate care, and use their knowledge and talents to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. She emphasized that while nursing requires clinical competence, it is ultimately the ability to serve with empathy, integrity, and genuine concern for patients that defines an exceptional nurse.
The ceremony also recognized the outstanding achievements of the graduates through the presentation of academic and special awards. Family members, friends, faculty, and guests witnessed the momentous occasion with pride and joy as the graduates officially joined the ranks of nursing professionals.
As they embark on the next chapter of their professional journey, the Class of 2026 carries with them the values of excellence, compassion, resilience, and service instilled by CTU-CCMC-College of Nursing. Their graduation marks not only the completion of an academic program but also the beginning of a lifelong commitment to caring for individuals, families, and communities.
We pray and manifest that you will continue the legacy of CTU-CCMC-College of Nursing in the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination this August 2026. We remain confident that the knowledge, skills, values, and clinical competence you have acquired throughout your nursing education will guide you toward success. May you uphold the ideals of the nursing profession with integrity and dedication, bringing honor to yourselves, your families, and your alma mater.
Congratulations, Class of 2026. May your passion for nursing continue to inspire hope, promote healing, and transform lives wherever your profession may lead you.
