Moments from the ASEAN FOOD EXHIBIT for the ASEAN Caravan 2026 held last August 20 at the ILS Stage!

As an organization dedicated to expanding global perspectives, the CNU - Internationalization Ambassadors Organization (IAO) was proud to collaborate with the hardworking and passionate student organizations in Cebu Normal University. A heartfelt thank you to the College of Tourism, Hospitality, and Hotel Management - Student Council (𝐂𝐓𝐇𝐇𝐌-𝐒𝐂), Culture and Art Majors' Pack (𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏), Homemakers' Club (𝐇𝐌𝐂), and Physical Education Majors Organization (𝐏𝐄𝐌𝐎) for bringing the rich cultures of the Southeast Asian Region straight to our Normalite community.

The 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 of 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, led by Director for International Affairs 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗔. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘆, together with the 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘴, participated in 𝙎𝙤𝙟𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨: 𝘼𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙉 𝙈𝙤𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 hosted by the University of San Carlos on August 13, 2026 as part of the ASEAN Caravan 2026.

The gathering brought together inspiring stories from students and young professionals from the University of San Carlos, University of San Jose Recoletos, University of the Visayas, and Cebu Technological University, who experienced academic mobility across ASEAN—from study tours and short courses to internships, exchanges, educational tours, and research experiences in Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.

More than a journey across borders, the stories highlighted how 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, and a 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of the Filipino identity in the ASEAN community.

As 𝗨𝗦𝗖 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗿. 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗮 shared, 𝐦𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬, 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬, 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, and 𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗𝗥𝗢 𝗩𝗜𝗜 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗶𝗹 likewise encouraged students 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧, and 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩 toward international mobility.

For CNU, these stories reaffirm our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our students, faculty, and staff to be inspired to learn beyond borders, build partnerships, and grow as ASEAN and global citizens.

The week opened with the 𝘼𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙉 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚 celebrating the rich diversity of all eleven ASEAN Member States right on the CNU Grounds.

This was followed later on Aug 5 with 𝘼𝙎𝙀𝘼𝙉 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢 #1, bringing together students, faculty, and distinguished guest speakers for insightful discussions on regional trends, sustainability, and youth leadership in ASEAN.

The week wrapped up with the 𝙂𝙡𝙤𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥, where student leaders came together to explore 𝕝𝕖𝕒𝕕𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡, 𝕤𝕖𝕣𝕧𝕚𝕔𝕖 and 𝕤𝕦𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝𝕓𝕚𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕪 through hands-on sessions and meaningful dialogue.

From 𝕗𝕝𝕒𝕘𝕤 to 𝔽𝕠𝕣𝕦𝕞𝕤 to 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, the first week of the ASEAN Caravan was truly a celebration of what it means to be globally engaged!
