Location: General Santos City.
JOB SUMMARY:
The GPS Data Gatherer collects, records, and validates geographic and location-based data using GPS devices or mobile applications. This role requires fieldwork to accurately capture coordinates, boundaries, and other spatial information needed for mapping, land surveys, or data analysis purposes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Conduct field visits to designated areas to gather accurate GPS coordinates and geographic data.
-Operate GPS devices, tablets, or mobile applications for data collection.
-Record and encode collected data into the appropriate system or database.
-Verify the accuracy and completeness of gathered data before submission.
-Coordinate with the supervisor or team lead regarding assigned areas and schedules.
-Prepare daily/weekly reports on data gathering activities and progress.
-Ensure proper maintenance and handling of GPS equipment.
-Follow safety protocols and procedures while conducting fieldwork.
-Perform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
โขBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related IT course.
โขFresh graduates are welcome to apply; with knowledge in GPS/GIS tools is an advantage.
โขBasic understanding of GPS devices, mobile applications, and mapping/geolocation tools (e.g., Google Maps, GPS trackers, GIS software).
โขProficient in basic computer applications (MS Excel, MS Word) for data encoding and reporting.
โขFamiliarity with data collection, data entry, and database management.
โขWilling to conduct fieldwork and travel to assigned areas.
โขPhysically fit and able to work outdoors under various weather conditions.
โขKeen attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data gathering.
โขGood communication, coordination, and time-management skills.
โขAnalytical and problem-solving skills, especially in handling and validating spatial data.
