An exciting day it was for Abellanians to witness their alma mater's 123rd Foundation Day spearheaded by school staff and administration.

Reliving our successes from the past Sinulog festivals to our proud alumni acing a board exam – this year's Foundation Day was nothing but a spectacle to witness!

The event was kicked off by a holy mass followed by a welcome address from the woman behind the curtains – our beloved principal, Dr. Evelyn R. Pielago. A bust statue of Governor Hilario Abellana, the school's founder was also unveiled.

A special person further made the event special, an alumni of Abellana National School, Engineer John Philip Minancillo who recently made rounds on social media as he aced and placed Top 1 in the August 2024 Mechanical Engineers Licensure Exam, besting other examinees from prestigious universities. Engineer Minancillo in his speech admitted that he was an average student in his high school years and was not included in the top 10, but he emphasized his success as "something you can't predict", reminding everyone that your time will come. He also gave Abellanians some tips and advices in achieving their sweet success.

But the day was not yet done with a motion and music presentation by the Lumad Kinaiyahan Cultural Troupe (Abellana's Dance Troupe), the school's choristers and the Supreme Secondary Learner Government. The crowd roared too as the practicumers from Cebu Technological University (CTU) took the stage – or perhaps the quadrangle, to perform "I love Cebu!".

Also want to see our school's achievements? The event also featured mounted galleries of Abellana's history, Sinulog triumphs, Special program highlights and display of some Abellanians' performance tasks became the cherry-on-the-top of the event.

A colorful day indeed, though short-lived, it still kept up with what Abellanians expected for this year's Foundation Day. May we all take Engineer Minancillo's words to heart as well as Dr. Evelyn R. Pielago's and Dr. Arlyn A. Alfante's closing remarks as our guide to the future and who knows, you might be the next one to be the keynote speaker and inspire future Abellanians with your wisdom. Hail Abellanians Hail! ONWARD TO VICTORY!
