Try a Gallery Walk for Peer Feedback!

A Gallery Walk is more than just a way to display student work—it’s a dynamic learning strategy that encourages collaboration, reflection, and critical thinking. Here’s how it works:
Showcase Student Work: Students display their projects, assignments, or ideas around the classroom.

Engage with Peers: Everyone walks around, views the work, and gets inspired by different approaches.

Provide Meaningful Feedback: Students leave constructive comments, ask questions, or share suggestions using sticky notes, digital tools, or discussion prompts.

Why it works:
Encourages active learning by getting students moving and thinking.

Fosters critical thinking as students analyze others’ work and reflect on their own.

Builds a collaborative classroom culture where feedback is valued and learning is shared.

Tip: Give students clear guidelines on how to provide feedback that focus on strengths, ask clarifying questions, and suggest improvements.
Gallery Walks are perfect for project-based learning, writing assignments, art, or problem-solving activities. They transform the classroom into a vibrant space for peer-to-peer learning!

Sample Gallery Walk for 7th Grade Geometry!
Turn your classroom into a geometry showcase! A Gallery Walk lets students share their work, explore classmates’ ideas, and give meaningful feedback.

Here’s an example for 7th graders:
Activity: Students create posters or digital slides showing geometric constructions (like bisecting angles or creating triangles)

How it works:
Students display their work around the classroom.

Everyone walks around, observes, and leaves feedback (questions, compliments, or suggestions for improvement.)

Students reflect on what they learned from their peers’ strategies and designs.

Benefits for Geometry:
1. Reinforces understanding of shapes, angles, and transformations.
2. Encourages visual thinking and mathematical reasoning.
3. Promotes a collaborative learning environment, where ideas and strategies are shared.

Tip: Provide a simple feedback guide, like:
“I like how you… because…”
“I wonder if you could…”
“This reminds me of…”

Gallery Walks turn geometry from abstract shapes into real, interactive learning experiences!

A Musical Treat at Mountain Vista!

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale for a special mini concert! Their visit filled our campus with music, joy, and inspiration. The students of Mountain Vista were captivated by their amazing voices — raw, pure, and full of talent.

It was truly wonderful to see young performers share their passion and energy through music. Thank you, Colorado Springs Children’s Chorale, for bringing such a beautiful performance to our school!
