Last Saturday, February 18, 2023, a training seminar for CARES volunteers with other department which is headed by UC-CARES core officers was held. It was a successful event as the volunteers had fun and learned a valuable lesson.

The culminating activity was held on February 19, 2023, at Barangay Apas Gym, Cebu City, where children together with their parents were gathered, and also the barangay health workers were given certificates of appreciation for their undying support during the eight-week feeding and health education program with the theme "5Ks: Kasayuran sa Kahimsug sa Kalawasan para sa Kaugmaon sa mga Kabatan-onan," which aims to enhance the knowledge of parents to promote better nutrition for the children of tomorrow.

All thanks to the Barangay Captain of Brgy. Apas for letting us lend our service to the community as well as to the Dean of College of Nursing, the UC CARES Nursing Coordinator, and the UC CARES overall Coordinator for the support of the organization.

UC CARES would also like to express their gratitude to the volunteers and officers of the organization who were passionate about leading and serving other people in the community. In addition, special thanks to all level of College of Nursing for the contribution in helping the success of the program.

Our hearts are filled with so much joy as we see the children’s and their parents’ cheerful smiles. Nevertheless, we are glad to devote our time to providing a service of care and hope.
