𝐘𝐞𝐬, #𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐒𝐉-𝐑 𝐒𝐀𝐒: 2026 Summer Research Workshop-Colloquy Produces Publication-Ready Research Articles

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) of the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) successfully produced a strong pool of publication-ready research articles through its 2026 Summer Research Workshop-Colloquy held from June 8 to 10, 2026, in Dalaguete, Cebu.

A total of 25 SAS faculty members participated in the three-day academic gathering, presenting and refining their research manuscripts through a rigorous process of scholarly critique, peer evaluation, and expert mentoring.

Research presentations were organized according to the participants’ assigned tiers or levels of completion.

The panel of examiners was composed of distinguished research leaders and academic editors from the University:

• Dr. Jessica M. Avenido, Director of the Center for Policy, Research and Development Studies (CPRDS) and Managing Editor of the Recoletos Multidisciplinary Research Journal (RMRJ), a Scopus-indexed journal

• Engr. Randy K. Salazar, CPRDS Faculty Research Coordinator

• Dr. Jonecis Dayap, CPRDS Student Research Coordinator and University Data Analyst

• Prof. Joey S. Estorosos, Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) Manager and Technology Business Incubator (TBI) Manager

• Dr. Le Munalim, SAS Dean; Chief Editor of the Recoletos International Journal of Languages and Literature (RIJLL); and Chief Editor of Recoletos Voices (RV)

One of the major outcomes of the workshop-colloquy was the endorsement of 15 research articles for revision and eventual submission to their respective target journals.

In his message to the participants, Dr. Munalim emphasized the vital role of research in advancing the academic mission of the School.

“SAS will continue to be the strongest research ally of CPRDS and the leading producer of research outputs in the University,” he shared, recognizing the dedication and scholarly potential of the School’s faculty researchers.

The revitalized research initiative was spearheaded by senior faculty researchers Prof. Hazel Gorre-Sevilla and Prof. Mary Ann Boniel-Autida. The activity also received full support from the SAS Department Chairs:

• Mr. Miguelito Ruelan, Department Chair, Mathematics and Sciences

• Mr. Giovanni Pierro Malitao Jr., Department Chair, Social Sciences and Philosophy
