Earlier today, the newly elected AWS Officers, alongside with AWS Media and one of the adviser, Mr. Robert Osabel, paid a courtesy call to the Campus HR Director, Dr. Girlgrace Ancit-Suico, and the new Working Scholar Coordinator, Ms. Asylah Blaire T. Wahing, at the Quality Assurance Office.

The meeting was highly productive as the team discussed strategic future plans, upcoming initiatives, and collaborative goals for the association. Together, we will continue to foster a supportive and thriving environment for every working scholar.

𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: 𝐀𝐖𝐒 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫

The University of Cebu Main Campus- Association of Working Scholars (AWS) officially embarked on a new chapter as it welcomed its newly elected officers for School Year 2026–2027 during a turnover and strategic planning meeting held recently.

The transition of leadership was formally led by outgoing President Ms. Mikylla Abellar and her team, who turned over their responsibilities to the new set of officers headed by Mr. Joseph Prieto.

The event marked not only the passing of leadership but also the beginning of fresh goals, ideas, and opportunities for the organization.
Present during the meeting were AWS advisers Mr. Robert Osabel and Mr. Noel Anthony Mirambel, who offered valuable insights, encouragement, and guidance as the organization discussed its plans, programs, and key initiatives for the upcoming academic year.

The session provided an opportunity for both officers and advisers to align their vision and strengthen their commitment to serving working scholars.

In addition to the leadership transition, the AWS Media Team conducted its first organizational meeting, laying the foundation for enhanced communication and engagement within the organization. Ms. Roshel Panadero was appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief, while several area heads were also selected to help lead various media and communications functions.
These appointments aim to strengthen the team's capacity to effectively share AWS activities, achievements, and important updates with the community.

With a renewed sense of purpose and dedication, AWS looks forward to a productive and meaningful year focused on leadership, service, growth, and creating more opportunities for working scholars.

The organization remains committed to empowering its members and fostering a supportive environment where students can thrive both academically and professionally.

Congratulations to the newly elected AWS officers, media team leaders, and advisers. May this new term be filled with success, innovation, and impactful service to the AWS community.

In memory of Dr. Al Horteza

Today, we honor in our memories and prayers the soul of our former AWS Adviser and friend, Dr. Al Horteza. He was a dedicated adviser to numerous working scholars during his time, alongside Sir Robert, Ma’am Riza, and Ma’am Marychel. He was also an instructor in the Computer Engineering Department and a friend to many, especially through the various endeavors in the university, particularly within the association.

Let us unite in prayer for the repose of his soul and for strength and comfort for his family during this difficult time.
