The Association of Working Scholars - University of Cebu (Main Campus) held its Monthly General Assembly last August 15, 2026, at the Activity Center.

The assembly opened with a heartfelt Kamustahan, giving working scholars a moment to reconnect and recharge following a demanding adjustment period at the start of the semester. This was followed by a revisit of the Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), serving as a refresher to strengthen every scholar's understanding of the rules and principles that guide us as one organization. The session also included a transparent presentation of the organization's finances, a joyful celebration of AWScinian birthday celebrants, and concluded with a lively segment filled with games and prizes.

The assembly proved to be both meaningful and refreshing, leaving everyone with renewed energy as the semester continues.

The University of Cebu Main Campus proudly marks the official opening of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027 today. The assembly was formally convened at the UC Main Quadrangle, bringing together our vibrant student body as they embark on a new year of academic excellence and holistic development.

The opening ceremony featured an inspiring address by our beloved Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yolanda C. Sayson, who urged students to embrace new learning opportunities and lead with purpose throughout the coming year. Her remarks were followed by our iconic traditional confetti drop, a cherished spectacle celebrating a fresh start for both new and returning students.

The University of Cebuโ€“Main Human Resource Department conducts a Re-Orientation to Old Working Scholars at the Doรฑa Alicia Gotianuy AVR today August 1, 2026.

The re-orientation covers the latest updates, reminders, and policies concerning the working scholars' duties and responsibilities, aiming to keep every scholar informed and aligned as the academic year progresses. The session also includes an open forum, giving working scholars the opportunity to raise questions and clarify concerns directly with the HR Department.

In her message, Campus Human Resource Director Dr. Girlgrace Ancit-Suico emphasizes that being a working scholar is both a privilege and a responsibility โ€” a reminder that highlights the balance between the opportunities given to scholars and the accountability expected of them in return.

The engaging exchange of questions and insights reflects the working scholars' active participation and eagerness to better understand their roles within the university.

Our AWS SummerFest 2026 has officially come to a successful end!

Two days were definitely not enough for all the laughter, wild team cheers, intense games, and core memories we shared! Maski pirteng inita, singot, ug kapoyโ€”walay nakapugong sa energy ug spirit sa atong working scholars from start to finish! Win or lose, everyone gave their 100%! Thank you to all the teams who fought hard, cheered louder than ever, and turned every game into pure entertainment!

AWS SummerFest 2026 may be over, but the bond we built over these two days will carry us through the rest of the year. As we go back to our daily shifts and busy schedules, we carry these core memories, laughs, and friendships with us. Always remember that you belong to a family that's constantly rooting for you.
