THE KUMON METHOD
The Kumon Method aims to build each child’s academic skills and discover their fullest potential regardless of age. It is an individualized method that enables students to become enthusiastic self-learners who are confident to take on every challenge in school and life. Toru Kumon, was a gifted high school math teacher in Japan. When he learned that his son Takeshi was not excelli

ng in math at school, he created math worksheets for his son to answer daily on his own. When Takeshi’s math skills significantly improved, Mr. Toru Kumon invited children in his community to study in the same way. Similar to Takeshi, all these children’s academic abilities improved. This inspired Mr. Toru Kumon to develop the potential of as many children as possible by opening the first Kumon Center in Osaka, Japan. Since then, Kumon has expanded worldwide, including the Philippines, and has helped millions of students excel academically and unveil their true potential. IN THE PHILIPPINES
Kumon was established in the Philippines on August 15, 1996, and has since shared the Kumon Method with thousands of Filipino children through our 300+ Centers nationwide. We offer two programs: Math and Reading. The Math Program aims to help build and advance students’ mathematical analysis and logical thinking abilities by honing their calculation skills.
