Our very own Montessorian, Isaiah Nigel Gorme is vying to be a member of the Philippine Swimming National Team for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games. He will be participating the SEA Games 2023 Swimming Qualifying Event/Philippine National Tryouts today (February 16 to February 19, 2023) at the New Clark City Aquatic Center, Tarlac.

Isaiah is also our SSG President for SY 22-23. Isaiah, the MMIS Burgundy Hawks Team and your MMIS Family are proudly cheering for you. We know that you can make it. God bless and enjoy the experience.

📣 Here are the long-awaited winners for the DOOR BANNER MAKING COMPETITION! ✨

-- MAIN WINNERS (judged by chosen ORPHIC members, conducted last 10/28/2022):

1st Place = GRADE 9 - GOLD
2nd Place = GRADE 7 - URANIUM
3rd Place = GRADE 10 - PALLADIUM

-- FAN FAVORITE WINNERS (counted and finalized on 10/26/2022):

GRADE 9 - GOLD with 1.3k reactions
GRADE 7 - NICKEL with 1.2k reactions

✨💙 YOU HAVE MORE POWER THAN YOU THINK! 💙✨

Every year on September 21, we are celebrating the International Day of Peace - a special day of celebration of promoting peace and equality declared by the United Nations General Assembly. This year’s theme is: “End Racism, Build Peace” - a time to fight the oppression of the people of color and to create a safe space for all people to enjoy, despite our differences with one another.

WHAT IS RACISM AND WHY SHOULD WE BE AWARE OF IT?
Racism is described as unfair treatment of people of a particular race in a society. An example would be discriminations towards Asian people and making fun of them for their appearance and culture. It’s an issue that is well known all over the globe because there are people out there with a mindset to discriminate people just because they are different from them. The importance of being aware of discrimination is that we have to see through other people’s perspectives. We treat people they way we want to be treated. Racism also creates a society where people can’t trust each other. We need to understand racism so that we can build a society where in everyone is treated fairly. Equality is about ensuring that every individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents.

As young individuals, we have the power to stop discrimination and accept the differences of people of color. As we are all the same - human and living. 🌐
