𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 | 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡

Thesis Proposal Class of the UP Cebu Design Program welcomed two faculty members as resource speakers for sessions aimed at strengthening our students’ research foundations.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 discussed “Statistics 101,” introducing essential statistical concepts to help students make informed decisions in developing and analyzing their thesis proposals.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗟𝘂𝗶𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀 discussed “Referencing and Review of Related Literature,” guiding students through scholarly referencing to situate their research within existing knowledge.

We sincerely thank Asst. Prof. Agustin and Asst. Prof. Torres for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise. Their contributions greatly enriched the academic growth and research preparation of our future designers.

The September 12 schedule will proceed as planned, but with an updated tour time of 6:00 AM–4:00 PM.

ANNOUNCEMENT | UP Cebu’s Design Program postpones its Cebu Urban Walking Tour, originally scheduled for tomorrow, September 5, 2026.

In a social media post, Asst. Prof. Jay Nathan Jore, who is set to guide the participants, announced that the postponement is due to the “poor air quality brought about by the ongoing haze situation in the city.”

Jore apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the participants for their understanding.

The program will announce a new date for the tour. Please stay updated through the official page of the UP Cebu Design Program or the College of Communication, Art and Design.

𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘 | 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗧. 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝘅 𝗨𝗣 𝗖𝗘𝗕𝗨 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗚𝗡 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠

For Foundation University's 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗔 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, Design Program Instructors 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻 and 𝗞𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 shared their professional insights on the basics of social design.

Together with 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗗𝗲𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗰𝗵 of Happy Garaje, who offered valuable perspectives on graphic design and creative practice, students were encouraged to think beyond the classroom, explore the impact of design in different contexts, and reflect on the role of creativity in shaping communities and culture.

We extend our gratitude to 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 Department of Architecture Program Chair Vanessa Gaston and 𝗨𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗔–𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 for the opportunity to be part of this meaningful platform for learning, dialogue, and creative exchange.

Our 2nd Year Product Design student, Silke Talastas is currently confined in the hospital and awaiting surgery following a motorcycle accident.
