The delta variant is the most contagious version of the coronavirus worldwide. It spreads about two to three times faster than the original version of the virus, and it's currently dominating the outbreak in the United States, responsible for more than 80% of COVID cases. The variant grows more rapidly inside people's respiratory tracts and to much higher levels.
On average, people infected with the delta variant had about 1,000 times more copies of the virus in their respiratory tracts than those infected with the original strain of the coronavirus.

UC Banilad has applied for Limited Face-to-Face classes for the Colleges of Nursing, Medical Technology and Midwifery. We welcomed the composite team from the CHED, DOH, IATF and LGU who inspected the campus to ensure our compliance with health and safety protocols!

GO Vaccinated!
University of Cebu and UC President Atty Augusto W. Go have strongly advocated for vaccination as a solution to combating the present Pandemic.
Early this year, Atty Go has committed the free use of UC campuses as vaccination sites for the government. (See sunstar article below). Then, UC has launched a massive vaccination campaign for all its teachers and staff. While some of them have been vaccinated through the LGU's vaccination drive, UC has likewise purchased thru the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. which entered into a tripartite agreement with the national government, and procured vaccines for employees of UC and the Augusto Go group of companies and their dependents.
Recently, with plans of having limited Face-to-Face classes for certain academic programs like Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology, and Maritime, UC is looking into vaccination drive for its students, following the government's vaccination priority group.

University of Cebu (UC) president Augusto Go offers more establishments owned by him to be used as vaccination site.
Go, in a speech during the opening of the vaccination site in UC Senior High School Department located at J. Alcantara Street, said there are still other UC campus which can be used as vaccination site.
