Watching Sean Quitevis is like staring at a pool of water and spotting that one hyper-energetic worm that never stops wiggling. It’s a frantic, blue-collar brand of basketball, all effort, all physicality, all the time.

The journey of Sean Quitevis began in the humble confines of PAREF Springdale in Cebu, eventually earning a spot with the Sacred Heart-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles.
Betting on his own work ethic, he made the leap to Ateneo de Manila, only to face a setback; he was cut from the roster by the very coaches he plays for today, Coach Sandy and Coach Yuri. Relegated to the "Glory Be" (Team B) squad, Sean endured the grueling shadows of the program.

But the man possesses a "no-quit" DNA. He outworked the room daily, clawed his way back onto the main roster, and eventually rose to become the Team Captain of the Blue Eagles.

When he declared for the PBA Draft, the league looked past him until the 3rd Round, where TNT took a chance. In this league, a third-round selection is a long shot, hardly a guarantee for a contract. Yet, Sean stayed the course and proved his worth. When Jio Jalalon went down with a sciatica injury, a window opened, and Sean broke through that window and grabbed the opportunity.

He made his debut against Barangay Ginebra, showcasing the high-IQ defensive discipline that usually defines a Tab Baldwin product. In his first taste of PBA playoff basketball, he became the catalyst that helped TNT survive a twice-to-beat disadvantage against NLEX, forcing a winner-take-all rubber match this weekend.

In the 2-games he played, Sean transformed into a defensive ghost, making life a living nightmare for RJ Abarrientos, Robert Bolick, LJ Gonzales. He pressured them into surrendering the rock and hounded them across all 94 feet.

Sean showed that betting on your grind can lead you to better situations.
