Training Day: PFA & Mindfulness โ๏ธ
Last November 28, our Guidance Volunteers leveled up! The Guidance Center successfully conducted a seminar on Psychological First Aid (PFA), combined with essential sessions on Self-Awareness and Mindfulness. ๐ฟ
Our volunteers participated in intense PFA simulations assessed by the Guidance Interns, stepping into the shoes of a helper to practice the principles of PCNIRR - Please Check Nicely If Respondents Responds. ๐ง
By understanding their own boundaries and learning how to stay grounded, our volunteers are now better equipped to be a safe space for their peers. ๐ค
We are building a community of support, one volunteer at a time. Thank you to everyone who participated and poured their hearts into learning how to help others! ๐

Mental Health meets Music! โงโหโช ๐โหโน โฌโ.ห
Our emotions are valid and music can be a safe space to feel them. Music has the power to speak when words canโt. The University of Cebu โ Pardo and Talisay Guidance Center encourages everyone to take a moment to connect with their emotions through music.
Our โTune In to Your Feelingsโ infographic offers QR codes that link to songs curated to match different moodsโwhether you feel sad, happy, confused, or unworthy. Each melody is a gentle reminder that your feelings are valid and that healing begins when you take time to listen.
โจ If your feelings become too heavy, reach out. You are not alone. ๐๐๐

It's Mental Health Awareness Month! ๐
Mental Health Awareness Month is here, and it's the perfect time to check in with yourself and those around you. You are not alone in your struggles.
The Power of 5
Prioritize these five essential coping mechanisms:
1. Talk About It: Share your feelings with a trusted friend, family member, or professional. Vulnerability is a strength.
2. Move Your Body: Physical activity, even a short walk, is a powerful stress reliever. Motion creates emotion.
3. Practice Mindfulness: Take a few moments each day to just breathe and be present.
4. Connect: Nurture your relationships. A strong support system is key to resilience.
5. Know Your Resources: Mental health is health. If you're struggling, professional help is available and valid.
Remember: Healing takes time, and your mental health deserves the same attention as your physical health. Let's work together to end the stigma and foster a culture of understanding and support.

Although, necessary it removes the familiar structure and social support of the school environment, which can amplify feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and fear. This month, let's turn our homes into havens of healing and hope!. Here are at-home activities that you can try to help you manage stress, anxiety, and the sense of uncertainty by building emotional resilience and stability. Remember, your mental well-being is key.
Using these at home activities you can build stability by focusing on the good things now and visualizing a bright future. Utilize the power of music for self-soothing when things feel shaky. To connect with others and restore a sense of control by showing care for family and friends whilst turning worries into motivation by illustrating your goals beyond the current crisis.

๐ซ MY SERENITY SPACE
Embracing healing, stillness, and peace within.
When I need to heal or find calm, I canโฆ
๐ฌ๏ธ Breathe with Intention
Inhale serenity, exhale heaviness.
Each slow breath reminds me that peace starts inside.
๐ฟ Reflect and Release
I pause to acknowledge my emotions โ not to judge them,
but to let them flow and fade like passing waves.
๐ธ Move with Gentleness
A quiet stretch, a mindful walk, or soft music
helps my body release what my heart holds.
โ๏ธ Unplug to Reconnect
I take breaks from screens and noise.
Silence allows my soul to breathe and recharge.
๐ Reach Out for Warmth
Healing grows in connection โ
talking to someone I trust reminds me Iโm never alone.
โจ Peace blooms when I give myself permission to rest, feel, and simply be. โจ
