🏫 𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦: 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗛𝗦 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗨𝗠 🏫
In line with VocTech Senior High School’s adoption of the Strengthened SHS Curriculum for School Year 2026–2027, here is a simplified overview of the key updates introduced under DepEd Memorandum No. 012, s. 2026.
🔍 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙩.
🔹 𝟮 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀
The SHS program is now streamlined into two tracks:
• Academic Track
• Technical-Professional (TechPro) Track
🔹 𝗙𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀
Subjects are reduced and simplified to allow deeper learning, with a stronger focus on essential skills and competencies.
🔹 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀
Strands are replaced with clusters of electives, giving learners more freedom to choose subjects based on their interests and goals.
🔹 “𝗗𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻”
Learners can take selected subjects from another track to explore more skills and career options.
🔹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲
Class time is adjusted to ensure better understanding and more effective learning.
🔹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻
Hands-on experience is increased, especially for TechPro learners, to better prepare them for real-world work environments.
These updates strengthen the transition from Junior High School to Senior High School, preparing learners for college and future pathways.
