Celebrating God's Goodness in the Lives of Our Students and Faculty

With grateful hearts, we praise God for the recent accomplishments of our Psychology Department family during the 141st Commencement Exercises of the Adventist University of the Philippines.

We rejoice with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬, a dedicated faculty member, who was recognized with the Research Excellence Award (Doctoral Level) for her study, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: 𝐀 𝐌𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧.” We also celebrate our department alumna, 𝐌𝐬. More than academic excellence, we are thankful to see hearts committed to Christ and service. Three undergraduate students were honored with the 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝:

Third-year Psychology students from Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) Department of Psychology took part in a meaningful community service event at Munting Ilog Integrated High School. Their initiative aimed to educate, empower, and encourage young minds through an awareness campaign on substance abuse.

During the program, the students provided valuable information about the dangers of substance abuse, its impact on mental and physical health, and ways to make informed choices. Through engaging discussions and interactive activities, they fostered awareness and resilience among the senior high school students.

Beyond this initiative, AUP Psychology Department forged a partnership with the school to establish more collaborative programs in the future.
