This is the second part of the results from the online survey we created with 32 respondents: students, males and females who
play online games within the age range of 12-20 year olds.

Note: The content and the interpretation of the graphs are based solely on the online survey we created using Google Forms from October 10 until October 15 of the present year.

We do not claim a hundred percent accuracy of the following data for the survey is conducted only through a small purposive sampling with students that play online games.

This is for reference only.

ONLINE GAMES: The Positive Effects to Our Well-Being

There is a study conducted by Dennis O. Dumrique and Jennifer G. Castillo (2018) about the involvement of online games to the academic performances of the students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

According to them, "The Academic Performance of the respondents is not affected even if they play online games. Their grades are still good enough even if they spent time for playing. The respondents have a good academic performance despite their involvement in playing online games."

Despite the stigma that online games only give off negative consequences, let's take a more closer look to the positive side of online gaming:

Why do people, especially students get addicted to playing online games?

Playing online games are one of the most common and well known activity in today's generation. Playing these type of games require some form of computer network or the internet and particular device specifications. Online games both have good (the advantages) and bad (disadvantages) effect to our social, mental, physical, and emotional health.

But the question is, what could be the possible reason why some of us—especially students get addicted to online games?

According to research, people play online games to manage their moods and relieve stress. Which is really true. Teenagers often have difficulty controlling themselves playing these games for they are trying to avoid and escape their personal problems out of the virtual world. Second possible reason is the game itself. These games are designed specially to be attractive and addictive. The purpose of it is to make the players never want to stop playing.

Lastly, it is because of the internet friends. On a study, students stated that online gaming had become the main focus of their lives. Friendships are created within these games through time and because of that, they felt like life would become dark and bleak if online games are removed from them.
