The very fact that they keep launching new ‘quests for the historical Jesus’ is itself proof that they shouldn’t. He’s endlessly elusive for one reason only: The early Christians showed no such interest. On the contrary — they fled from history, feverishly replacing whatever may have happened with sacred legend and cultic mythography. To seek ‘the real Jesus’ is to work directly against the very nature of the sources the early Christians left behind.

Archaeologists have discovered a royal tomb at the Jabal Anubis necropolis in Abydos in Egypt. The tomb belonged to a member of the enigmatic "Abydos Dynasty" (c. 1700-1600 BCE) in the Second Intermediate Period, but the name of its owner is not yet known. https://buff.ly/dP1tgqR
