Faith and Partnership: A Visit to Ladislao Diwa Elementary School

Today, Ladislao Diwa Elementary School opened its doors to representatives from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who came to look closely at the needs of the Special Needs Education (SNED) program and the Schools Division Office (SDO) Library Hub. What might have seemed like a routine assessment carried a deeper meaning: it was a gesture of care, a reminder that education thrives when communities come together to support learners of every background and ability.

Accompanied by Schools Division Superintendent Gregorio Co, Jr. and School Principal Marita Anson, the stakeholders walked through the school’s facilities with a shared purpose — to understand, to listen, and to help. Their presence symbolized more than oversight; it reflected a partnership rooted in compassion and responsibility.

Ladislao Diwa Elementary School – Cavite City

SDO Cavite City formally commenced the Monitoring of the Opening of Classes for School Year 2026–2027, in line with the Department of Education’s readiness framework. The activity was conducted to ensure that all governance, instructional, safety, and learner-support indicators were observed and documented prior to the full resumption of classes.

Representatives from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Cavite City joined the activity to provide technical assistance, namely Dr. Yolanda S. Oliver, Education Program Supervisor in EPP/TLE, and Jan Michael N. Dolorfino, Nurse II.

The monitoring tool covered eight major domains, including Governance and Administrative Readiness, which ensures alignment of school plans with the three-term calendar and dissemination of opening block activities; Curriculum and Instructional Readiness, which involves unpacking competencies, contextualizing curriculum maps, and integrating learning recovery activities; and Teacher Readiness, which focuses on rationalized workload, classroom management systems, and availability of instructional kits. The checklist also reviewed Learner Support and Continuity, covering BOSY assessments, attendance monitoring, psychosocial support, and distribution of learner materials; Facilities and Safety Readiness, which ensures classroom safety, utilities, fire extinguishers, and secured perimeter; and DRRM and Emergency Preparedness, which includes contingency plans, emergency signages, early warning systems, and supplies. Finally, Community and Stakeholder Engagement was highlighted through Brigada Eskwela, partnerships, and communication channels.

LDES underscores its full commitment to academic preparedness for School Year 2026–2027. Through the strong leadership of our School Principal, Mrs. Marita A. Anson, the collaborative oversight of the Schools Division Office of Cavite City, and the comprehensive review of readiness indicators, the institution affirms its dedication to delivering quality education, safeguarding learner welfare, and fostering meaningful community engagement.

Akala mo tapos na ang Brigada Eskwela? Nope! Patuloy ang bayanihan sa tulong ng ating mga kaagapay mula sa Philippine Coast Guard, Cavite Lodge No. 2 at Ilang-Ilang Court No. 2, Order of the Amaranth!
