The SPS Office is issuing this official statement to address recent rumors circulating among students regarding reported COVID-19 cases within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing department.

These rumors are completely FALSE. There are currently no confirmed COVID-19 cases among our nursing students, nor is the Nursing department withholding any health information.

The health measures currently implemented—such as wearing face masks—are standard preventive precautions recommended by our School Nurse following a general increase in seasonal illnesses like colds and flu among the student body.

Creating, sharing, or spreading false information that leads to public alarm, panic, harassment, or the alienation and discrimination of fellow students carries serious consequences. Students found actively spreading false and malicious statements may face legal liabilities under applicable laws governing libel, cybercrime, and public order.

Everyone is strongly advised to immediately cease spreading unverified reports.

Decades have passed, but these words still echo in our hearts. Today we honor the memory of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. — a man who chose to fight for freedom, even when it cost him everything.

But looking at the Philippines today — the division, the struggle, the truth being buried — 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧?

Ninoy believed in us. Now it’s our turn to prove him right.

𝗜𝗦𝗨 𝗗𝗦 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Isabela State University Debate Society (ISU DS) served as adjudicators during the Pillarican Debate Cup 2026, held as part of the Sports, Sociocultural, and Literary Fest 2026 of Our Lady of the Pillar College–Cauayan, Inc. (OLPCC).

Representing ISU DS were Heart Lopez Tumagcao and Lance Erick Andrada Mundo, Senior Members, along with Cyd Domingo Jagonia, Member and Angelika L. Cadang.

The competition was held on August 17, 2026, at OLPCC, San Fermin, Cauayan City, Isabela, with the theme “OLPCC’s Platinum Legacy: 70 Years and Beyond of Excellence, Faith, and Service.”

The participation provided an opportunity for ISU DS members to engage in an interschool debate activity and contribute their expertise to the event.
