Guiljungan Elementary School (GES) successfully conducted its Term 1 PTA Meeting, Distribution of Report Cards, and Portfolio Day on September 18, 2026, bringing together school personnel, parents, and other stakeholders to reflect on the schoolโs accomplishments, discuss important updates, and strengthen home-school partnership for the continuous improvement of learner outcomes.
The activity commenced with a General Assembly and Plenary Session held at the Brgy. Guiljungan Covered Court, where School Head Sir Aldane Gryer R. Espinosa delivered the State of the School Address (SOSA). Anchored on the DepEd 5-Point Reform Agenda, DepEd Negros Island Region (NIR) 10-Point Agenda, and the AGAPE 8 Strategic Pillars of the Schools Division of Negros Occidental, the address presented the schoolโs accomplishments during Term 1 and highlighted key initiatives undertaken to support learner development, teacher performance, stakeholder engagement, and school improvement.
The State of the School Address also provided parents and stakeholders with updates on various school programs and activities, policies, operational matters, and important reminders. The schoolโs financial accountability was likewise highlighted through the presentation of the 2nd Quarter MOOE Liquidation Report and information regarding the 3rd MOOE Cash Advance, reinforcing the schoolโs commitment to transparency and responsible management of public funds.
During the plenary session, SPTA President and her officials presented updates concerning the Parent-Teacher Association, including announcements and upcoming PTA activities. The discussion emphasized the continuing role of parents and stakeholders in supporting school programs and creating a conducive learning environment for every learner.
Following the General Assembly, the participants proceeded to their respective classrooms for the Homeroom PTA Meeting, Distribution of Report Cards, and Portfolio Day. Classroom sessions provided an opportunity for advisers and parents to discuss the learnersโ Term 1 academic progress and overall development. Teachers presented learnersโ portfolios and learning evidence, giving parents a clearer view of their childrenโs accomplishments, areas for improvement, and learning needs.
The Homeroom PTA Meeting also included an orientation for Term 2, allowing parents to understand the expectations, schedules, learning priorities, and other important matters for the succeeding term. The adviser-parent conference further provided a meaningful avenue for individualized discussions regarding learner progress and ways through which the school and parents can work together to support each child.
The activity served not only as a venue for reporting accomplishments and distributing report cards but also as an avenue for building stronger partnerships between the school and families.
Through open communication, transparency, and active stakeholder participation, Guiljungan Elementary School continues to strengthen its commitment to its mission of empowering minds, shaping hearts, and reaching every learner. As the school moves forward into Term 2, the GES community remains committed to working together toward improved learner outcomes, stronger school-community partnerships, and a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all.
